Where: 3323 SE Loop 289, Lubbock, TX

When: May 19, 2025 at 8 a.m. until we run out

How many: 200 vouchers will be given out

Who can get one: Any City of Lubbock resident, but there is a limit of one per household

What you need to bring: the pet you are getting the voucher for, proof of residency, a leash or carrier, proof of an up-to-date rabies vaccine.

Important information: If your animal isn’t already microchipped then they must be microchipped at the time of receiving a voucher, this will be free of charge. If your animal isn’t up-to-date on their rabies vaccine, they must get one at the time of surgery. The cost of a rabies vaccine is not covered by Lubbock Animal Services.

Lubbock Animal Services will be hosting a free vaccine clinic this Saturday for City of Lubbock Residents. This clinic will cater to both dogs and cats, and all vaccines will be free of charge. DHPP will be provided for dogs, FVRCP for cats, and a Rabies vaccine and microchips will be available to both dogs and cats! There is not a limit to how many animals can be vaccinated per household, so bring all of your critters🐾

This event starts at 8 a.m. and will go until noon.

Lubbock Animal Services is excited to announce our upcoming free vaccine clinic for all City of Lubbock residents.

This vaccine clinic will take place on March 1st at 8 a.m. at 3323 SE Loop 289. LAS is happy to partner with a local rescue, Operation Paw Prints! Come out and get your animals the necessary vaccines free of charge 🐾

Kid my Australian Cattle Dog hasn't spent a lot of time in close proximity to herding livestock. He's seen plenty from a distance but not many this close. He was anxious and unsure. He would investigate and then seek safety behind me. Once he felt safe he was brave enough to check them out from a different angle. What you don't see is before and after the video I provided him comfort and reassurance. At no point did I ask him to stay close to me or tell him to "leave it" so his hesitation is not impulse control. After about 10 minutes I took him in the pen with the goats and horse so he could drink out of the water trough. Again no commands/cues like "heel" or "leave it" but I did help him navigate around the animals and stood between him and the animals so he felt safe enough to drink. When he was done drinking I helped him navigate back out of the gate. While Kid has had a lot of training his training was not necessary here. Our relationship and trust was very necessary as well as two way communication. He told me what he needed and he trusted me to help him through the situation.
