CapillaryFlow Equestrian CapillaryFlow Equestrian
Innovative equestrian arena & paddock foundations engineered for superior watering, drainage, stability, and performance. Did You Know?

Smarter footing starts from the ground up. 🐎🌱💧 Capillary Equestrian has revolutionized arena building by introducing their patented system, Capillary Concrete. Capillary Concrete is the world-leader in the golf industry. It can be found on most of the world’s top golf courses as a system for constructing high-end sand bases. It has been tested for many years in the harshest climates and proved to

be superior to any other materials. Now introduced to the equestrian industry, this system provides the best of both worlds, drainage like an all-weather ring and supplying moisture from below, eliminating the need for sprinklers and producing a consistent and safe surface. Capillary Concrete, a patented and engineered polymer-based concrete, is the only building material that can move water both up and down to precisely regulate the moisture of any adjacent material, such as sand or soil. Capillary Concrete is one of the only products on the market that is adaptable to various sand selections and can be used with or without fiber or other synthetic footing. This system can produce arenas that match the highest FEI standards under all weather conditions by using advanced drip-line technology along with the patented Meso pores of Capillary Concrete to produce uniformity and consistency in the moisture levels. FEI arena testing standards are based on five major components:

• Impact firmness
• Cushioning
• Responsiveness
• Grip
• Uniformity

Capillary Equestrian is proud to offer a product that can help your ring meet these standards.

Would you like to try our web-based Sand Agent? It’s amazing! 🤩

Now everyone can become a sand expert. Having the right type of sand—one that drains well while still holding together when wet—is the key to creating a stable arena without the need for fibre.

Of course, it works best with our CapillaryFlow system underneath, giving you precise control of the water from below.

Discover the right sand. Get the right footing. No fibre needed.

Meet the Team! 💙

This week we sat down with Kate Ginise, Equestrian Business Manager at CapillaryFlow.

“As Equestrian Business Manager at CapillaryFlow, I have the opportunity to combine my lifelong passion for horses with innovation, sustainability, and performance.

My journey in the equestrian world began on a small farm in Ohio, where horses were simply a way of life. When I was in the fourth grade, my mother founded an equine-assisted therapy nonprofit, and I spent years volunteering in lessons—an experience that deepened my appreciation for the powerful connection between horses and people.

I started riding at a young age and began training and competing under professional guidance by age eight. Growing up, I was also actively involved in 4-H, where I showed my pony, sheep, and dog. Those experiences taught me responsibility, sportsmanship, and a deep respect for animal care that continues to influence me today. After spending several winter seasons training and competing in Wellington, Florida, I eventually made the move full-time to continue pursuing the sport.

Outside the arena, I graduated magna cm laude from The Ohio State University with a background in health promotion, nutrition and exercise science, along with minors in bioethics and global public health. That scientific foundation continues to influence the way I approach equestrian performance, arena design, and horse-and-rider wellness.

Whether I’m in the saddle, working with clients, or helping to create better riding environments, I’m passionate about supporting the long-term success and welfare of both horses and riders. Horses have shaped nearly every chapter of my life, and I’m grateful to now combine that passion with a career dedicated to advancing the future of our sport.”

Why do grasses grown in CapillaryFlow Hydroponic Systems develop much stronger root systems than traditional soil-grown turf? 🌱

It comes down to the root-zone environment.

Traditional soil-grown turf:
• Inconsistent moisture and oxygen levels
• Soil compaction limits root development
• Weaker root structure and turf stability
• More surface breakdown under hoof traffic and weather stress

CapillaryFlow Hydroponics: 💧 🌱
• Dense, fibrous root development
• Improved oxygen and moisture balance in the root zone
• Stronger root-to-sand binding and sod cohesion
• Greater resistance to shear forces and surface displacement
• Faster recovery after traffic and training use 🐎

For equestrian applications, this translates to a more stable and resilient surface for horses to ride, run, train, and graze on — while also improving durability, consistency, drainage, and long-term turf performance. 🐎 🌱 💧
