Mini Minions Breeder of purebred Nigerian Dwarf and the kinder crossbreed (Nubian x pygmy) goats since 2012. Registered with ADGA, AGS, NDGA. Located in Lowman, NY.

Erika and Patrick McCarthy have been breeding and raising goats since 2012. In the Summer of 2014 Mini Minions moved from Ramona, California to Newport, NC and in Summer of 2016 we moved to Lowman NY. We have purebred and registered Nigerian Dwarf does and bucks. On the farm we also have 1 Kinder doe a few Angora goats the occasional hog for home grown bacon and pork, honey bees, chickens, turkeys

, ducks and guinea fowl to round out the menagerie. We started as just a farm to help support our food needs and it has morphed into farm that is educational and helps the community learn and experience agricultural with hands on experiences. Milking demonstrations are common as well as almost daily messages and calls to help answer goat questions. We are always willing to bring the farm to the community if people can't come and visit us. Trips to elementary schools and nursing homes ahave become a tradition to bring farming back to the old and introduce farming to the new generations.

It’s ok to dry your does off early.
It’s ok to drop them to once a day milking.
It’s ok to give them a year off.
It’s ok to not make shows.
It’s ok to not do L.A..
It’s ok to not do milk test.
It’s ok to reduce your numbers.
It’s ok to not trim feet every 6 weeks.

Every year I get messages from people on the verge of burn out trying to keep up with the “standard” asking “How do you do it with 4 children?”
Dairy burn out is real. You’ll run yourself into the ground trying to keep up with what other herds are doing. Not all of us have hired help to run these farms.
Most of us have kiddos that’ll be grown and gone way too soon. Take the time to enjoy your animals and remember why you have them in the first place.
Do what is best for you and your family.
You’ll have different seasons in your life, do what is manageable for the season you’re in. ❤️

Our Story

Erika and Patrick McCarthy, along with Murtagh and Dzintra, have been breeding and raising goats since 2012. In the Summer of 2014 Mini Minions moved from Ramona, CA to Newport, NC and in Summer of 2016 we moved to Lowman NY. We have purebred and registered Nigerian Dwarf goats. On the farm we also have 1 Kinder goat doe, the occasional hog for home grown bacon and pork, honey bees, Chickens, guinea fowl, Kentucky Burbon Red turkeys our and our newest additions, a pair of Angora goats from Laughing Goat farm. We do have raw milk for sale. Fresh or frozen milk $8/ gal. If you would like fresh milk please bring a container of your choice or a 1/2 gal wide mouth mason jar to trade. Mason jars are available for a $3 deposit. We also make a wide variety of scented and unscented goat milk soaps.
