We currently have several Second Chance Birds looking for their forever people.

From cockatiels to canary-winged parakeets and Indian Ringnecks, these birds have found themselves needing a new beginning through no fault of their own.

Each bird has its own personality, history, and needs. Our goal is to make sure they find the right match and a loving, permanent home.

Please keep in mind that our Second Chance Birds are placed differently than our hand-raised babies. We may ask questions about your experience, housing, cage setup, and lifestyle to help ensure the best possible fit.

We reserve the right to decline a placement if we feel it is not in the bird's best interest.

If you've been thinking about adding a bird to your family, consider giving one of these deserving birds a second chance.

Another cockatiel has gotten loose near the Loves Park Police Station area. If any of our customers or followers happen to see a cockatiel outside, please contact us at House of Birds right away so we can help reunite this baby with its family.

Please keep an eye on:
• Trees and rooftops
• Power lines
• Parking lots and nearby neighborhoods
• Flocks of sparrows or other birds (lost tiels sometimes follow them)

If spotted, do not chase. Try to keep eyes on the bird and contact the store immediately.

Auggie loves bringing people his favorite toy, saying hello, and if you’re lucky… he may even try to untie your shoelaces. 😂

He’s become such a fun part of House of Birds, and we love when our customers get to meet him. ❤️

Macaws are incredibly smart and emotional. A bond like this doesn’t just happen. It comes from time, patience, consistency, and learning your bird.

These birds know who they feel safe with. Trust is earned, never forced.
Every bird is different, especially rescues or birds with a rough past, but the goal should always be a relationship built on trust, not fear. 💚
