nts by providing an alternative to traditional boarding facilities. I do not do boarding at my house unless it is small animals such as guinea pigs or possibly rabbits. The state of NC has laws regulating who may board cats and dogs so if you are leaving your pet in the care of someone at their house and they have no kennel license with the state, they are an illegal facility and in the worst-case scenario, the facility could be heavily fined and your pets may be seized. Obtaining a license is a costly and difficult task, one I am not equipped to handle at this time but I am fully insured to care for your animals in your home and have made myself available on a limited basis to even do overnight care depending on your pet's needs. I have many excellent references and several great reviews on this page and am currently looking for a few new regular clients. One of the most frequent comments I hear is, "Please excuse the messy house." I am an animal lover and a pet parent of a small zoo so I can completely understand how life and busy schedules sometimes override routine cleaning. I'm not here to judge you or your house. I'm here to care for your pets and help you travel without worry. Please please please do not let your fear of having someone see what you think is a mess keep you from providing you and your pet a positive care experience!! My focus will be on keeping your pet happy, healthy, and safe while you're gone and not on a few dirty dishes or an unmade bed :)
My work experience includes NC State's Vet School, Avian and Exotic Animal Care, Cozy Cat Veterinary Hospital, and Youngsville Animal Hospital. I have a lot of experience with a wide variety of animals and am very comfortable giving medications and can even help you with post-surgical care or other medical treatments if needed. My rates are very reasonable and I spend at least 30 minutes per visit, which includes lots of love and attention, providing fresh food and water per your instructions, giving any medications if needed, cleaning up any waste as needed, and giving each pet individual playtime and/or walks. I am also available for midday check-ins if you work long hours and worry about your pet being lonely. I am currently serving Franklin, Vance, parts of Granville, and northern Wake Counties. If you live outside these areas but are still interested, please message me and we can discuss. Even if I am unable to sit for you, I may be able to recommend someone. My goal is to provide both your pet and YOU a stress-free trip! I want your pet to remain in a familiar environment and will maintain their schedule as much as possible to make them feel comfortable and safe. In order to keep you worry-free, I provide as many updates as you want on whatever schedule you set. I love taking pictures so expect texts or emails (your preference) of photos of your pets doing remarkably cute things! I love hearing from pet parents who tell me they had the most amazing vacation because they didn't have to worry about their pets this time. I would love to do that for you also!!
