😔NOBODY WANTS THEM? ☹ BECAUSE SHE’S A HIGH-MAINTENANCE ANGORA! They have been in our system forever. Can you please share their story?🎬

🐰🐰Amina and Amr are a young and loveable duo who have been endlessly searching for their family forever. Their story is one of rags-to-riches-to-rags. After being dumped at different shelters when they were just newborns, they met each other in a foster-to-adopt home where they ate organic greens and had plenty of space to free roam. Unfortunately, and through no fault of their own, they were abruptly abandoned and then confined to a tiny space for many weeks before a new foster was found. Despite this rough start, they’ve retained their sweet personalities and adventurous spirits.💞

🖼This picture-perfect pair has a beautiful relationship and can often be found cuddling together or in side-by-side sploots. Their close bond requires them to be adopted together. Due to their history, they can be a little shy at first meeting, but within a few days, they’ll be climbing all over you and showing their appreciation in binkies and kisses. They both have excellent litterbox habits and are skilled in cardboard box remodeling and deconstruction. 💋😘

🛑AMINA
The name Ami̇na is a girl's name meaning "trustworthy, faithful".
Age: 1-year-old female
Weight: 3-4 lbs.
Breed: Angora
Characteristics: Sassy, sweet, affectionate, adventurous

👸Amina, affectionately nicknamed ‘Princess Puff,’ has blossomed in our care. Initially hesitant to leave her carpeted safe zone, she’s now a fearless explorer, eager to investigate every corner of the room. She loves being petted, and a good cheek massage makes her tooth purr with gusto. Amina will also return affection by giving your face endless kisses if given the chance. As an Angora rabbit, Amina requires about 5-10 minutes of daily brushing to prevent mats from forming. Snacking on a few oats keeps her happy during grooming sessions, although you may get a glare when brushing her backside (but who can blame her?).

🛑AMR
It means 'life' or 'to live long,' carrying positive connotations of vitality and longevity. Its brevity, meaningful etymology, and historical significance contribute to its enduring appeal as a strong, traditional name for boys.

😇We refer to Amr as a “perfect angel” because he’s an easygoing guy who doesn’t get into mischief and is just happy to be included. He is content to follow you around the house but is very polite and won’t go anywhere he isn’t invited. Amr is a gentle soul who’s not shy about jumping for joy and showing off zoomies when excited (which is often). His favorite hobbies include grooming his fuzzy partner, lounging with his fluffy feet on full display, and tossing toys around. He will thrive with humans who can provide him with time to warm up, and with a bit of patience, he’ll soon be demanding head rubs and snuggles.

🎀Happy New Year!! 🎆🎈🎊
It would be a severe understatement to say that 2024 was challenging. But, despite it all, we saved hundreds of lives - all because of your tireless support. So many are safe now because of our amazing network of VOLUNTEERS, FOSTERS, and DONORS! In 2025, we resolve to do the same and keep fighting the good fight for these vulnerable creatures.
🎎In ancient Babylonian, Chinese, and Celtic traditions, the transition period from the old year to the new was viewed as a struggle between chaos and order, over which order always prevailed. Our belief that we too can banish chaos and integrate more fully into our lives our dreams 💭, desires, goals, and..... BUNNIES gives us all the determination and fortitude to change their, your, and our lives for the better. ❤🎉💝
🏰Finally, thank you to ALL who supported BWF through BOARDING at the Bunny Château in 2024. In December alone, 100+ bunnies visited and indulged throughout our premises. At the time of this post, we are hosting 50 guests and are celebrating BUNNY BONANZA! 🐰🎀🎁

💕JUST A BEAUTIFUL ADOPTION STORY!💕
Once upon a time, way back in 2016, a human angel came to BWF and adopted two siblings. Their names were Snickers and Toffee. Their mama – Cookie – 🍪gave birth to the litter of EIGHT at North Central Animal Shelter (NC) right after Easter, and BWF embarked on the journey of finding them all homes. A human angel who adopted sisters was Andrea; She loved them wholeheartedly. Recently, one of the sisters transitioned after a long illness (nebulizing treatments could no longer help!), and her 14-year husbun departed shortly after. Suddenly, Andrea had ONE bunny ONLY! 😔
💔Heartbroken, she reached out to BWF and brought TOFFEE, aka KITS, on a date. Two heartbroken ladies in search of healing … And THIS is how we fixed it! The picture is worth a thousand words. 🖼 🥰 We could not be more thrilled for Kitsi, Andrea, Bumi, Bambi, Harry, and Nora! Yes, the Quintet, and what a HAPPY QUINTET! Please join us in wishing them a long life of happiness and hoppiness with their loving mama and her beloved Kitsy!☺️

NORA – Rescued from SEAACA (Media 3); BAMBI – Found Stray next to a dumpster in Pomona and rescued/fostered by our fabulous member MABLE (Media 2); BUMI – Rescued from NC (LAAS); HARRY – We rescued a nursing mama (Maylee) with her kits Milo, Mia, Harry, Astrid and Elsie from NC as well!

We love Quintets, but Threesomes and Foursomes rock too. Please let us know if you need help bonding your babies at our Bunny Chateau. This is our favorite part of rescue! No bunny should be alone. If there’s a room for ONE, there is a room for TWO! 💕

📌Did you know that each twitch😤 of a rabbit's nose enhances their ability to identify different scents? 👃 So....this means that with every sniff, they can smell a different smell within their environment! 🍎🥬 Rabbit's noses can twitch up to 120 times a minute! That's a lot of smells!!

✨Alice & Boba just got married and are enjoying a perfect Bunnymoon boarding at the Bunny Chateau! 🏰They landed a great foster home (Thank you, Kim!), but they are still looking for that ideal A+++ home. 🏠

🎀Alice's story was featured, but Boba joined our bunny family recently. His humans got him from the breeder and then realized that they were allergic to bunnies. He came to us partially neutered (he had to undergo another surgery!), with an ear infection, and shedding like crazy. Now that he turned out to be a true gentleman, Alice has finally accepted his marriage offer and invited him to her digs. 💓🎻

Moon and Chestnut would like to tell you their favorite 🐰✨Bunny Fun Fact✨🐰! 🧬Biology🧬 Edition

Did you know that rabbits belong to the Lagomorph family and are not rodents🐀? This is due to the fact that they have two sets of upper front teeth (or incisors) instead of just one, like all rodents.

Those in the Lagomorph family include Rabbits, Hares, and Pikas😍!

💐Not only have they landed an A+++ home, but they got a friend too!
Cindy adopted from BWF several buns in the past, and recently lost a 10-year-old boy and was left with Zoe, a special-needs widow.
🥥Cindy and her partner Kaveh saw the desperate plea for C&P and reached out. Coconut was literally a replica of the boy she lost. Both buns embraced Zoe, and she was so happy to have a gentle pair of friends to keep her company during her golden age. Their week-long "BunnyMoon" at the just ended today!
😘We know how important it was for their first mom that they land a great home, and we’re thrilled that Bunny World Foundation was able to facilitate that.

⛴️ Did you know bunnies are banned from entering some Ferries? Rumor has it that a long time ago, in the 17th century, rabbits (that were going to be used for food) 🐇caused the death of many sailors on a ferry after they chewed the hull of the ship. 🛳 🤯

🎈BWF MADE THE CUT and earned the "little" badge as TOP-RATED NON-PROFIT!

🎂 BWF is proud to celebrate the 16-year voyage, which began with the fierce struggle to bring to light illegal animal sales in the LA Fashion District (2008-2013). BWF rescued close to 20,000 rabbits in the City of LA, ranging from un-weaned baby bunnies from Santee Alley to adult bunnies from the over-inundated city and county shelters. In the past year alone, BWF took in over 1500 rabbits, including "Red," "Blue," and "Orange" alert rabbits from the six LA city shelters, and Southeast Area Animal Control Authority (SEAACA). BWF has also partnered with Pasadena Humane Society, Ramona Humane Society, Inland Valley Humane Society, Animal Services Center - City of Mission Viejo Animal Control, Orange County Animal Care, San Diego County, and many more. In 2023, BWF housed, provided medical care, promoted, found permanent and loving homes for more than 1500 spayed and neutered rabbits, and staged 60 adoption events and workshops.

💗 BWF is an ALL-Volunteer, nonprofit 501(c)3 animal welfare organization founded in 2008 in Los Angeles, California. Set up to promote (Shelter) Equity and Equality for Rabbits, BWF's mission is to combat animal cruelty, illegal animal sales, exploitation, and neglect of all animals through rescue efforts, public education, investigations, legislation, events, and media attention. In addition, BWF works to reduce rabbit overpopulation and establish rabbits as companion animals that deserve the same individual rights, level of care, and opportunity for longevity as cats and dogs that live as human companions. BWF manages a complex Foster & Adoption Program that requires constant strengthening and expansion to accommodate new rescues and provide intensive care, medication, supplies, and Spay/Neuter funds. BWF has 150 volunteers/fosters and rescues approximately 1,000-1500 abandoned and abused domestic rabbits annually.

📡 Regarding global social media outreach, BWF grew to be one of the world's largest rabbit rescues & leading education sources. With 400,000+ SM followers, BWF posts are shared by millions of bunny lovers worldwide.

🌹 BWF track record of effectiveness has led to meaningful victories for animals in city legislatures. BWF received recognition by The County of LA, The California State Assembly and The City of Santa Clarita. CBS featured BWF as one of the FIVE "Best Volunteer Opportunities for Animal Lovers in Los Angeles."

📺 BWF was featured multiple times in LA Times, Huffington Post, LA Business Journal, KABC, CBS, KTLA, FOX, and NBC Los Angeles & New York. BWF appeared on Chinese, Japanese, and Spanish TV Channels, Access Hollywood 🎥, and in multiple publications, i.e.. Los Angeles Daily News, The Press-Enterprise, Orange County Register, Long Beach Press-Telegram, Pasadena Star News, Whittier Daily News, Redland Daily Facts, San Gabriel Valley Tribune, San Bernardino Sun, and Torrance Daily Breeze.
