Did you know you can microwave Kongs and Toppls?

When I run out of frozen food toys (or forget to make more) I like to use this simple recipe.

It keeps my dog occupied for a while and is super tasty (or so she says!)

Doing this with a Kong is way more challenging for the dog, and tends to take longer to cool down.

My board and train clients get lots of videos of me training their dog so they can follow along with their progress, and see how I teach. I have nothing to hide- the way I train is fun for everyone!

When able, I'll edit videos a bit to make it easier for them to follow along with what I'm doing and why I reward when I do.

Our goal with Rascal here is for him to be reliable when off leash, so when he's at his parents' ranch he can enjoy it fully and safely.

What a typical day of Board n Train looks like for Rascal:

❤️ Wake up! Potty break,
🔴 Breakfast in enrichment toy
🧡 Downtime with access to toys
🟠 Morning walk
💛 Downtime with access to toys
🟡 Training session/exercise
💚 Cool down
🟢 Crated for long nap
💙 Potty break, downtime with access to edible chews
🔵 Training session/ exercise, cool down
💜 Dinner in enrichment toy
🟣 Downtime with access to edible chews/toys
⚪ Sometimes an evening walk
🩷 Downtime, then bed

I'm able to do my work, run errands, keep house, etc. during the downtime and crate times.

As he gets older and more familiar with this kind of routine his downtimes will increase, allowing his family more freedom.

This schedule is what works for me and my lifestyle; you'll have to figure out what works best for you and your pup!

Rascal's recall practice is going well. I love using this method I learned in a Kikopup video a long time ago 🙏 it's proven to be sooo helpful time and time again for moving to next level distractions!

Did you know adult dogs should be sleeping around 16 hours a day, (and even more for puppies)?? It makes you realize how important a good dog bed can be!

Wonder what type of collar is best for your dog?? Chewy just put out an article reviewing their 10 Best Dog Collars for 2024, looking at fit, functionality, durability, ease of use, and attractiveness.
