Beautiful Shep Girl BELLA PEARL (2 yrs old, not spayed & weighs 71 lbs) was surrendered by her owner on 7/17 due to landlord issues. BELLA PEARL was Lovely with volunteers in the yard on 7/28 - she was friendly, relaxed, explored the yard and chased after bugs! BELLA PERAL is shy - she does ok in playgroup mostly keeping to herself and acts overwhelmed at times with all the other dogs. She was Friendly with me and another volunteer in the yard - and seemed happy as she can be after losing her home and her person. Will get video once the weather permits for BELLA PEARL to run around and show us her true personality. Please come on down and meet this Sweetheart who is Trying so Hard to Feel brave in a Very Scary Place. It's hot and she has lots of fur - the shelter is doing what they can to keep her and the other dogs comfortable in this extreme weather. The shelter is open Tues-Fri 8am-5pm. Sat/Sun 11am-5pm. ON EUTH LIST FOR TODAY BUT STILL LISTED AS OF TONIGHT/NEEDS IMMEDIATE RESCUE! RAY NEEDS OUT ASAP ON 7/30!
Urgent SOS for Euth Listed Kitty RAY (1 yr old & neutered). RAY came in as a stray on 7/16 - he is Very Shut Down/Terrified. He Does Not have a bite history - just Completely Terrified and won't allow Handling by staff. RAY Could be a working cat and or may even acclimate at some point to be a companion kitty but he needs out of the shelter environment. His Euth date was Today 7/29 but he is still Listed as of now (6pm on 7/29). RAY NEEDS IMMEDIATE RESCUE! Please call the Life Saving Liaisons at 213-824-3636/213-648-2864. Join Outta the Cage, Thrive Studios, and Yoga Flow Lydia for a free morning of movement, community, and adoptable dogs.

Schedule:

9-10 AM: Gentle vinyasa flow yoga with Lydia

9:30-11:30 AM: Meet adoptable dogs with Outta the Cage

11 AM-12 PM: Strength training with Thrive Studios

Come for one class or stay for the whole morning. All fitness levels are welcome, but class space is limited.

Cutie Ginger Kitty Boy MAPLE (11 months old & neutered) is Waiting for his Forever home! MAPLE and his sister were surrendered by their owner. MAPLE'S sister got adopted and MAPLE was left behind. He is Very Sweet - he has a Grumpy face but loves being pet - just talk to him and go slow and he will meow and lean in for snuggles! Adorable & Spunky Shep (mix) Puppy boy PIP (9 weeks old, neutered & weighs 9 lbs) is Waiting for a Loving Home at the W. Valley LA City Shelter! PIP is in the teething baby stage - wants to chew on things and run around exploring and playing! PIP was surrendered by his owner because the landlord objected to him - PIP was too vocal and energetic for his surroundings so he now finds himself in need of an owner who will Spend time with him and train him and teach him about life! Puppies take some work and we are Hoping someone comes down asap and scoops this boy up and gives him all the love and training etc that he needs! The shelter is open Tues-Fri 8am-5pm. Meet FRIDA one of our beautiful seniors who is as sweet and gentle as they come. Seniors hold a special place in our hearts and Frida definitely does. The Shelter is not favorable for our seniors. Its loud, hot, and they get overlooked by everyone who wants to adopt young pups. Frida is an 8 year old spayed female weighing 63lbs. She came into the Shelter as a stray and her family didn't come looking for her. She is soft, calm and just wonderful to be around. She walks slow on the leash, no pulling. In the yard, she likes to lounge around and get belly rubs. She's always smiling and happy to receive love and affection. She loves any type of treat and takes them gently. Playgroup describes her as tolerant, low energy, mingled, kept to self, and physically vulnerable. She would be perfect for anyone looking for a slower dog, someone who wants to cuddle most of the day. She came into the Shelter with a slight limp. Seems like it doesn't bother her. Come meet FRIDA at West Valley Animal Shelter. She deserves her forever home 🦋

Sweet and energetic Jon Hamm knows how to beat the heat! He is a one-year-old, 55-pound, high-energy affectionate pup who would love to have a caring family to call his own.

He was surrendered to the shelter in January but was adopted and surrendered again in May because his “family” was moving. As much fun as he’s having here, he would rather enjoy a swim with his people and a return to cozy beds inside a home rather than his metal kennel. He is dog-friendly, he has been called a rockstar and a greeter in playgroup with other dogs.

He loves toys and is a playful pal and he also enjoys affection from his human friends. Come and meet Jon Hamm to see if he’s the right fit for your loving family!

Fridays are for sweet Pupdates. Today we are highlighting BEE, who was first fostered through the Shelter and then quickly adopted. Bee fit right in to his new family. He has a sibling he can play with all day long, seems like they're the perfect match and contrast! They play in the yard together, take naps, and even beg for food together. These updates make us smile!! Have a great life sweet BEE 🐝 !!
