Today’s Sweet Treat Saturday recipe is Frosted Flake cookies.
These are great especially if you love thin and crispy cookies and you can’t ever go wrong with Frosted Flakes 😍
Difficulty: easy
Ingredients:
1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup lightly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups crushed frosted flakes (6 cups un-crushed)
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°
2. Mix shortening, sugars, eggs, and vanilla in an electric mixer until mixed well.
3. Add flour, baking soda, and salt and mix well.
4. Pour about 6 cups of frosted flakes in a medium bowl.
5. Using your hands crush the frosted flakes until small bits.
6. Fold crushed frosted flakes into cookie dough until evenly combined.
7. Drop medium sized mounds of dough onto ungreased baking sheet.
8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown or until top is no longer shiny.
9. Let cool for a few minutes before removing from pan.
*these are definitely better when they aren’t warm anymore. The crisp is top tier!*
