🌟 Gratitude Post! 🌟

Over the course of two days, over 30 amazing volunteers from the Colorado Department of Personnel & Administration rolled up their sleeves and gave their time and energy to Healing Souls Ranch as part of their annual Day of Service! 💪🐴

From mucking stalls and grooming/feeding horses, to repairing fences, washing winter blankets, halters, and lead ropes, painting pavers for our memorial garden, and pulling weeds around the pond to prepare for our summer concert series, their dedication and positive energy made a HUGE impact. 💚🌿🎶

This marks the second year that Healing Souls Ranch has been honored as one of the nonprofits chosen for this initiative, and our hearts are full of gratitude.

A heartfelt thank you to each and every volunteer who showed up with grit, compassion, and kindness. You’ve helped create a cleaner, more beautiful space for our horses and for the community we serve. 🙏✨

Thank You for a Magical Night!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us Saturday for the Shanna in a Dress concert at Healing Souls Ranch! 🎶

From the breathtaking almost sunset to the moment the storm rolled in, the evening was filled with laughter, heartfelt lyrics, and connection. Shanna’s performance was funny, witty, honest, soulful and the peaceful energy of our horses made it all the more special.

We are so grateful to Shanna for sharing her heart and talent with us, and to each of you who showed up to support our mission.

🌅 Our First Concert of the Season was a Huge Success! 🎶🐴

Thank you to everyone who joined us to help kick-off our summer concert series, what an unforgettable evening! Over 60 guests came together under a perfect summer sky to enjoy soulful performances from Tif & Mollie along with special guests Sarah Banker and Kalin Capra.

The sunset was stunning, the weather couldn’t have been better, and the sense of community was truly heartwarming.

Your presence and generosity help fuel our mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and offer healing through our incredible horses. Every note played and every dollar donated brings us one step closer to giving these animals and the people who connect with them a second chance.

🐴 March 1st is National Horse Protection Day! 🐴

Horses have given us their strength, loyalty, and partnership for centuries, yet thousands face neglect, abuse, and slaughter every year. At Healing Souls Ranch, we are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and giving these incredible animals a second chance at life.

This month, we celebrate the resilience of rescued horses and advocate for their protection. We are especially excited to welcome two BLM Mustangs from a kill lot, where they faced a heartbreaking fate—being shipped to slaughter. Their journey is just beginning, and with time, love, and training, they will have the future they deserve.

Saying Goodbye to Two Beautiful Souls

The week before Christmas was one of the hardest we’ve faced at Healing Souls Ranch. Within just 24 hours, we said goodbye to two of our beloved horses, Kinky Boots and Chesapeake (affectionately known as Chessy). Both were in their mid-20s and spent their final years surrounded by love, care, and the peace they so deeply deserved.

When Kinky Boots and Chessy were saved from the kill lot, they had endured hardship and uncertainty. Like so many horses we rescue, they were in desperate need of safety, healing, and a place to call home. We are grateful to have been that haven for them. Seeing them thrive—learning to trust, enjoying the love and attention from our volunteers and visitors, and sharing their gentle spirits with all who met them—was a privilege we’ll never forget.

Kinky Boots now joins her yearling, who passed away before she came to us, and together with Chessy, they will be reunited with other beloved souls from our ranch—Kismet, Tater, and Hershey. Knowing they are together brings us a small measure of comfort in this time of heartbreak.

Losing them so suddenly and so close together has been incredibly difficult. But this is the sacred work of rescue: saving lives, celebrating their transformations, and, when the time comes, letting them go with dignity and love.

To Kinky Boots and Chessy: Thank you for the joy you brought to the ranch and to our hearts. You made our lives richer, and you will forever be a part of Healing Souls Ranch.

To those who support our mission, please hold your animals close. This work brings immeasurable joy, but also moments of profound loss. We do it because every life is worth saving, every story deserves a second chance, and every soul matters.

Rest peacefully, sweet Kinky Boots and Chessy. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
