During the 2025 Spring turkey season we have had highs and lows. We have been blessed to hunt with new and old turkey hunters. But throughout this season Pierce Bishop and I have covered ALOT of ground! Thanks Haley for allowing him to hunt with me! Like, share and comment with a photo of your favorite hunting partner. So today marked a milestone for Dakota Anderson! Three years in the making, trying to take a Kentucky long beard! Well, we got it did after many miles of walking and driving! Congratulations Dakota on an absolute stud of a turkey and thanks for allowing us to be a part of this hunt! ▪️▫️▪️

Today’s Lesson: Patience!!!!
This morning in Illinois we battled 25+ mph winds all day. Had several jakes first thing put on a show that was phenomenal! But mid day got on a longbeard, and impatience got the best of me. Could have punched a tag had I been more patient. But it’s Turkey hunting and memories made! Be back at it tomorrow trying to find one that wants to ride in the back of the truck. Wish us luck! And good luck to everybody else chasing after them in the morning. calls .

So lesson of the day; DO NOT QUIT!
I put one to bed yesterday evening, I slipped back in this morning and got close in the darkness. As daybreak began and the woods started to come alive, I just knew he would fly down into my lap. Well, that’s what dreams are made of(hopes & wishes). When the longbeard decided to pitch down he flew 150 yards away from me and never said a word. I was mad, disgusted and about to loose my mind! So, I moved to a different location knowing I only had a short time left to hunt. This bird came in silent with eight of his lady friends and the rest is history.
