Ground elk and butternut squash skillet. I used our ground sliders for this recipe because they are made from ground round, a higher quality cut. The sliders are made from a uniform muscle of the animal over the ground “scrap” or meat that couldn’t make a beautiful cut for packaging. Even though they are made into small Pattie’s they can still be used as ground meat in recipes for a richer leaner taste.

I also used our homemade elk stock in this recipe!

Things I’ve learned about cooking in my 30s….
1. Don’t be afraid to experiment. This is how we learn.

2. It’s ok to not follow a recipe completely! Change it up sometimes.

3. Use what you have. Substitutions can make a meal just as good. No running to the grocery store 6 times for me!

4. Relax! It doesn’t have to be perfect. Try new things and have fun!
