Hello friends - Just a little update from my part of the world. It has been a pretty intense year for many of us, myself included. There have been some tough losses of both very special animals and very special people. Over the past few months that caught up with me in a variety of ways, but most notably my health has suffered. Stress combined with injuries from the auto accident years back lead to me having a pretty serious infection that will likely not go away until my teeth are completely repaired, and as soon as I started on the upswing with a new antibiotic I managed to get wholloped with the Flu which has taken weeks to recover from 😩 Consider this your official reminder to please get your annual Flu shot - goodness knows I should have! I have barely had the energy to speak to my closest friends for months much less answer the massive volume of texts and FB messages that have come my way. Please know that if I have not been able to answer you, you are certainly not alone and I am trying to slowly work on reaching out to a couple of people a day. I have literally hundreds of messages/texts, most of which are not from people I am close with or even know at all, and I am trying to figure out a good way to sort that out so that I can get back on track. To my friends/dog family who have provided patience and unwavering support - you may never know how much gratitude and love for you I truly have. It has meant everything to me, even if I haven’t answered during those days I was in the roughest shape 💜
I am FINALLY starting to be able to work again and am so very grateful for that ability! That being said, it leads me to to the next part of my post. I have worked this year on some exciting new artwork which will soon be posted on my art page and shared here as well. I have made sure to make arrangements with trusted friends to help manage both my art and kennel pages. They will also be assisting with art sales and keeping everything running smoothly.
Finally - I feel this is the best possible time to remind every single person writing this that those of us who are small business owners need your support more than ever before. Many, many of us are worn down/burnt out from the past couple of years and hurting. Every time you make a small purchase you contribute to keeping that little business and that person’s dream going forward! If I can’t provide the artwork or gifts you need, please consider finding another small business owner before handing over funds for mass produced products. You can absolutely know when you support someone small that you are making the difference in their lives - we may not be as fast as a TJ Maxx or Amazon but we absolutely feel blessed when you choose to support our work 🥰
P.S. I chose this simple piece to post because almost 8 years after starting my journey in art thanks to her, this amazing little dog who beat all the odds that were stacked against her, survived a major car wreck, made it through a spay thanks to her amazing vet (who we love and treasure so much), and thrives every day to remind me to simply keep moving forward and be thankful for life even if it isn’t always easy.
