Hi Sheila,
I wanted to share the journey of Tikka’s travels from Montana to Calgary and then to Northern Ontario. Tikka, formerly known as Cera from the Land Before Time litter, had an incredible adventure. She visited Yellowstone National Park, Glacier National Park, Waterton Lakes National Park, and everything in between. She was a true pro in the vehicle, and each night brought a new experience as we slowly made our way back to Canada, whether it was in a hotel or a camping cabin.
On the day of our flight, we spent the day relaxing in a park to ease my anxiety about her journey. She breezed through security and settled into her carrier with her fan on. I had worried for nothing; she slept through takeoff and the entire flight. The only fuss she made was when her fan batteries died, and I couldn’t replace them fast enough. After that, she slept the rest of the way without any accidents.
Once we arrived home, my neighbours kindly watched Tikka for two hours, allowing me to spend some quality one-on-one time with Rip, formerly known as Crash from the Ice Age litter. After our walk, Tikka and Rip met very organically and seemed to hit it off immediately. It’s only been 27 hours since they met, and I can already see the progress they’re making.
I have a lot to learn to ensure there’s no unnecessary stress for either of them, but I have faith that they will become the best of friends.
