The dogs have taken most of the week off from training but tonight we went and ran some cross wind blinds. They actually surprised me how well they did.

Blind 1
was angle across the draw, over a hump and through some cover. then angle up a hill and I had a bumper in some sunflowers. 209 yards

Blind 2
Across the draw, up the hill, down into a heavy cover draw, push up another hill and the bumper was under a cedar tree. This one was super tough because you lost sight of the dog for 40 yards. 259 yards total.

Blind 3
Across the draw and up the hill again. Over or through a cover strip, push another 40 yards up the hill, then on the back side of another strip there was a bumper. 238 yards.

Both dogs did very well and didn't let the wind push them off line or try to square off the hill.

Looking forward to the Pheasant opener on Saturday!!!

After church I took the dogs out for a training session. We first did a handling drill. Then I set up these 3 marks for them. The first mark was right to left angle back at 108 yards into some tall cover. 2 and 3 were run as a double. Mark 2 was the memory, left to right ,flat, at 60 yards. Mark 3 was the go bird, right to left, 200 yards. Both dogs did well.
