Welcome our newest girlie.

She was adopted from the shelter into a life of abuse. She lived in a little kennel 24/7 where she laid in her own urine and f***s for months. Her poor legs have pressure sores so deep her ligaments are showing.

Her abuse ends here.

She HAS been seen by a vet and is on medication, plus a “diet” to get some weight back on these little bones.

Pray for this sweet girl. She came to us as HARLEY, but the poor girl doesn’t even know her name, so being in a home with 2 new sisters with K names, we decided on Karli 🥹🥲

We tried to get an update from Gaston County Animal Care and Enforcement to share, but have yet to hear back. I’m sure Donnie made himself right at home with his new family ❤️

Y’all! Donnie was adopted today!! While we are obviously very sad to see him go, we are so excited and hopeful that he has found his forever home this time. He will have a playmate & a fenced yard. So happy for you Mr Donald 🥹🥹🥹🥹

Donnie is still looking for his furever home yall! In the meantime, he’s hanging with his new friend, Lulu in his foster home. 🏡

✅knows basic commands
✅house broken
✅playful and dog social

Donnie is a spunky little fella, only 36 pounds, and about a year old, and likes to roughhouse, but he is working on learning manners and that not everyone likes to play so rough.

He does good on a leash, and is learning that he doesn’t have to PULL when on walks, he’s learning all kinds of manners. 🥹

Donnie went to his first adoption event since being in foster care, but sadly he didn’t find his furever home.

He’s excited for the next event in 2 weeks, and hopeful that someone will fall in love with him and give him a permanent home💛🐾

💛 Just a quick note from Hoke Hounds 💛

We’ve received several messages lately, and we wanted to clarify a few things. We are not a rescue, but a foster home working closely with Gaston County Animal Services to help dogs who are at risk of euthanasia.

We truly wish we could take in more animals, but we are a small household with 5 dogs of our own and full-time jobs. This is something we do out of love, in our spare time, to help save lives where we can.

If you’re in a tough spot and need to rehome a dog, our hearts go out to you. We encourage you to reach out to local rescues or the maybe to the Lincolnton Animal Shelter, who may have more resources to assist.

Right now, we are focused on helping Donnie, a sweet pup in urgent need of placement. If you’re interested in giving Donnie a forever home, please message us—we’d love to help start the adoption process. 🐾

Poppy likes to greet others, so she would prefer a lower energy pup who isn't looking to play rough. Poppy comes to us from a large scale cruelty investigation where she was found nursing puppies in poor living conditions😞 She was a great mom to her puppies, all have been adopted and she has been left behind💔

We recommend a home that is familiar with the breed and their specific needs. Richard loves the pool and joins our push-pull playgroup at the shelter. He enjoys running and chasing after his friends🐾

Judy was found wandering the busy streets🥺 Upon intake she was very timid and upon further evaluation we determined she is likely deaf. Judy does take awhile to come out of her shell and trust new people but it's well worth it! Special needs animals are just as deserving of love🤍
