July has been another CRAZY month for sitting! It’s been busy. It’s been HOT 🥵 SWELTERING HOT!!! There’s been A LOT of miles put on my car 😂

I’ve dropped in & stayed with lots of regulars & even stayed with some new babies! (No, I’m not taking new clients. They’ve been on my schedule for A WHILE!!)

This summer I’ve also seen more than my fair share of snakes. (At least this one didnt nearly drop on my head 😱😭) BUT I’m over it. Go ahead and send notice to the universe that I’d like to not do that anymore. Please & thank you!

All of this is happening while we are getting Lily ready to head off to her first year of college in a few weeks. So, I have been appreciating the past week that I’ve had “off” from my sitting jobs to be able to spend some time with her before she heads off on her new adventure & to just soak up the last minutes of life as we know it. After the 4th I won’t see her for any extended period of time until we are moving her into her dorm. So, my emotions are a little crazy & my Mama heart is all over the place!

Thank you for being patient with me in the coming months 🙏

❗️ATTENTION ❗️

I have started booking into 2026. While you all know I hate to make too many changes in regards to my services I wanted to make everyone aware of 2 main changes starting Jan. 1, 2026.

❗️I will no longer be booking overnight jobs that are longer than 14 days. This does NOT apply to drop in visits.
I apologize for having to do this but I’ve spent far too much time away from my family the past few years
Of course, if you have an extenuating circumstance, please get in contact with me.

❗️Holidays will no longer be the standard charge. They will incur an additional 20% charge per visit for drop ins or per night for overnights.
I honestly hate doing this. But unfortunately I have to.

As always, Thank you all so much for trusting me with your babies 🙏🐶🐱🐾

Sorry guys, June was an absolutely INSANE month for me!!! So, I had to split up my June jobs into “overnight” & “drop in” albums because there were too many pics.

There are way worse problems to have than to have too many pics of adorable furbabies!!!!

Today was a hard day.

It wasn’t because I had to run around a bunch or because I’m exhausted, even though both of those are true.

It’s because today I got a double whammy of the heartbreak side of this job.

I got the text that said my longest client had to say goodbye to their dog last night. Yes, we knew it was coming…it doesn’t make it easier. I knew when I stayed with them earlier this month it would probably be my last time with him but it’s still hard. I’ve been with them for so long. They are my family and he was my baby too.

Then I dropped in on a client who I usually consider an “easy” stop. I don’t have them very often but they have 3 cats who usually just want their box scooped, a head pat and to get fed. This time will not be an easy one. Today’s visit ended in one of the cats getting their own little corner set up for them with food, water and a heating pad & blanket combo set up. Where I laid with them for a good hour and a half because I couldn’t leave her until I knew she was doing better. She had definitely perked up by the time I left but I’ll still worry until I know she’s in the clear.

When I called the owner they kept saying how sorry they were that I was having to deal with that.

Y’all…let me be clear. I do not mind. This is my job & I LOVE your animals. Yes, my heart breaks for your babies and for you. I’m an empath and an animal lover. But I would rather be caring for your babies than just about anything else. I love what I do.

The conversation also brought up that it’s important to have someone who legitimately cares about your animals and makes sure that they are okay every single time they stop by. Not someone who does the bare minimum and doesn’t pay attention.

All of this to say that I love your babies. So much. It hurts my heart when they’re sick. It breaks my heart when it’s their time to move on. It’s part of the job but it’s still so hard. But I am forever grateful that you trust me to be part of it 🙏💙🐾

If you’ve been my client for more than 5 minutes, your furbabies have probably met my youngest daughter, Lily. She has been my shadow from the day she was born. When I started volunteering, doing rescue work and then pet sitting, that was no different.

Lily has been by my side through happiness, heartbreak, success, frustration, devastation, joy…all of the emotions I experienced with rescue and that I experience now with YOU all with all of your amazing babies, Lily is there with me. She understands when I call her upset or happy & she is often the bridge between whether or not I can take an additional job or if I have to turn it down.

Lily is moving on to a new chapter in her life & heading to college in August (for those of you who didn’t already know). We are so proud and very excited for her.

We are also beyond grateful & incredibly humbled by the support, love & encouragement that Lily has received from so many of my clients 💙

THANK YOU!!!!!! From the bottom of our hearts for the gifts, love & words of encouragement for our girl. (You do have thank you cards coming, I promise! But I wanted to post something as well 😊) You all have become like family to us and you prove that constantly. Not only to me but to my girls & my husband. Someone always shows up for us. I could not ask for better clients & I am so grateful for each and every one of you 🙏💙

It is HOT y’all!!!! The feel like temperature was something like 105 degrees today. PLEASE make sure you’re making sure that your furbabies have access to fresh water & that you know the signs of heat stroke just in case the worst should happen.

A little tip for high energy, working dogs in this heat is making sure they have something to do that doesn’t create too much energy that will overheat them.

I’m currently sitting for a client that has 2 GSD’s who are used to going to work with their dad everyday. They are BORED on top of being HOT.

Sometimes, we have to get creative when we’re sitting. Or when we’re pet parents, period! A few things you can do to release energy for pups in this heat:

-Hiding (little) treats inside for them to hunt and find can release some of that pent up energy.
-Brain games (you can find these on amazon). -Walking them/letting them be active in the very early morning when it’s not too hot.
-Water! Sprinklers, pools, lakes…whatever you have access to.

I stopped at Dollar General on my way home from my kennel shift to grab a cheap kiddie pool for these babies to simply walk through and put their paws in and cool off a little. Abby seemed to love it! Bear wasn’t interested much at all 😂 I may go to Walmart if I have time tomorrow to see if they have a bigger pool (DG is limited but that’s all we’ve got in LC) to see if Abby will lay down in it.

It wasn’t perfect. But it was sufficient.

*Remember, whether it’s a kiddie pool or a water dish, dump and refill the water every day! Standing water can have bacteria, parasites & toxins that can make your dog sick*

Yesterday, in between jobs, I got a few minutes to stop by my house and visit with my own babies. Quinn always seems to say, “MINE!” Whenever I come home and he jumps directly into my lap & falls asleep (and proceeds to drool 😹) He’s such a big baby. But he’s my heart 🧡

I love my job but i definitely miss my crazy bunch when I’m away.

*not pictured: the husband coming downstairs from a dead sleep (he works nights) because he sensed that I was in the house, to lay on my lap and fall asleep too 😂 Nobody can say that I’m unloved ❤️❤️❤️*

The past 2 weeks have been BONKeRS for me & next week will be even crazier. I mean running all around the CSRA (Lincolnton, Grovetown, McCormick, Evans…sometimes multiple trips each day) kind of crazy…doing what I do best, loving on your furbabies 🥰

I’ve been living on naps & caffeine for sure!

I’m not much of a nap taker most of the time. But when you’re running around like I’ve been the tank gets low, ya know?!? So I find myself in need of short little naps throughout the day wherever I can get them. Laying down, sitting up, chair, bed, couch, floor…it honestly doesnt matter where 😂

Here are a few of my nap buddies this past week. I couldn’t ask for more adorable snuggle buddies 🥰

Aren’t they cute!!?!
