✨Life…finds a way ✨These two sensitive cuties lost all of their foliage to cold damage, and I didn’t know if they’d bounce back. I kept watering and loving them until…new leaves started poppin’ out! I’ve learned so much during my journey with my plants. Today, they taught me that we can face any obstacle and thrive!

Also, little reminder that today is the last day to find my lil dudes at !

My spider plant, Peter, gave me so many babies! After a while, these little spiders started to be a drain on his energy. So, ✂️ ✂️! Spider plants are quick rooting, and super easy to take care of! Do you want to learn how to propagate? Let me know in the comments!

These little ✨glittery✨cuties are Tradescantia Zebrina - named for their stripes! The more sunlight they get, the more sparkles come out to play. But be careful, too much sun can lead to sunburn, just like us! Zebrinas grow crazy fast and super easy to propagate, they are a great starter plant for any beginner plant parent.

For those with curious pets and kids, Zebrina’s stem sap is toxic — so watch out if you’ve got a nibbler!

Also, check out those cute pots! These Zebrinas (and those fiddle leaf figs that snuck into the second pic) will be available at today.

What does your WFH situation look like? You all know me as a plant lady, but by day I’m a data scientist! I spend all day at my desk crunching numbers — so I gotta be comfy! Which means…I need plants and .alchemy.candle.co candles! There isn’t a lot of natural light by my desk, so this little snake plant is perfect. Also known by their genus Sansevieria, these hardy dudes require little water and sun. They also grow little babies — in the time I’ve had him, he’s put out two little pups!

As we all bundle up against the cold, remember that plants get chilly too! Temperatures in Chicago are falling below 0 this week, so it’s a good idea to move your dudes at least 6 inches away from drafty windows. Or pop into for a plant hat!!

Plants that get too cold risk their cells freezing, and then rupturing. Cold can cause irreparable damage to your lil plant dudes 🥶🪴

Aloe? Aloooooe? Anyone out there? It’s me, Aloe Vera! Big and spiny, and known for my soothing gel, I’m a slow grower that loves to bask in the sun.

I rescued three of these beauties a few weeks ago and two of them are available at ! The other is still resting...she’ll join her siblings soon!!

Aloe Vera gel can help soothe burns and scrapes but is toxic when ingested by cats and dogs, so no nibblers!!

Big announcement! The Lil Dudes have a new home 🏡 the has moved to a permanent location at 2064 N Damen Ave. I could not be more excited to continue being a part of this awesome community and bring y’all lil dudes. Look how happy they are in their new digs! 🌱🌿🪴

Remember to keep new dudes are in quarantine! When you bring any new plant home, it’s important to keep them away from the rest of your lil fam. They could have pests or fungal infections and you don’t want to risk those spreading to your other dudes! This is especially important if you’re purchasing from big box stores.

How do I do that in my one bedroom? Whenever I get a new plant, I surrender my bathroom and rig up another curtain rod in my shower. By closing the door, I can keep any fungus gnats from spreading! I can also keep an eye open for any funky fungus on the leaves.
