🤎🌈👏🏼Iris, my lil rainbow goddess, has met her forever family and gets adopted this weekend! They recently decided to adopt an older cat, particularly one with mild special needs. They fell in love with everything about Iris and feel confident they can handle her meds and monitor her conditions closely, alongside their middle aged tripod kitty who will hopefully befriend Iris over time.🫶🏼 It's not easy to find homes for established kitties with a lil ✨baggage✨, so I'm grateful for people like them!

🐾🦷raise your paw if you have Feline Chronic Gingivostomatitis (FGCS)! We've wondered about stomatitis for a while, but now it's loosely confirmed. The day of Iris's meet-and-greet, I noticed she'd started to eat less dry food. That was to be expected as her steroid wore off. But yesterday she completely avoided it. So to the vet we marched. Just one month after her latest dental, the areas where her teeth were removed are inflamed again. This reminds us that, yes, Iris will likely deal with this for the rest of her life and need repeated rounds of meds to manage it. It's such a bummer that this is ongoing for her and other kitties out there. Fingers crossed her future adopters are willing to handle this and keep a close eye on our precious girl.❤️‍🩹

🐴🐓🐈‍⬛Balto had an adventure! We spent time with a wonderful human who has a gorgeous crew of rescued animals, including a dog with a background similar to Balto's. We started with a walk through fields, which I knew would be a challenge for Balto. Open spaces make him nervous. But after seeing the other pup frolicking along, he did amazing! Balto later got to see an adorable handful of barn kitties, passed by a chicken coop without batting an eye, and spent time in a field with horses. That was my favorite part, but not Balto's. He had a healthy fear of the giant grass pups.

I'm so impressed by how Balto did on our first solo outing. It was a beautiful morning spent with beautiful beings and the kindest human who understands that animals are family.🫶🏼 I'm grateful for her and her offer to let Balto have this experience!

Always dreamed of adopting a fawn? Meet Balto: the most tender and intelligent 30lb boy ever. He's like a baby deer because he is a nervous boy at heart, but once you earn his trust, it's a magical feeling. Balto is looking for a patient and dedicated forever home that can achieve just that! His rescuers believe he was raised without a clue that kind humans existed, or perhaps no human interaction at all. But after months of healing in his foster home, Balto is coming out of his fluffy shell! He's an athletic (but sometimes clumsy) little guy who loves to chase and wrestle with his small and medium foster siblings. He's quite expressive with his eyes and body language, and he can be vocal when he feels lonely. He doesn't seek pets on his own yet but is starting to enjoy them. His foster mom is amazed by his progress and knows he deserves to become someone's true forever family member. Balto is so excited to meet you and see if you agree!

FENCED YARD REQUIRED. Because of Balto's past, he is still a flight risk. Pending your type of fence and environment, he may always need to be supervised outside and on a leash regardless.

Homes with another social dog are highly preferred! His foster dog siblings have taught him how to feel safe in all environments, and he will likely need to continue learning for a while (especially in a new home).

-Heart worm negative
-Up-to-date on flea, tick, and heart worm prevention
-Dewormed
-Microchipped (comes with free lifetime registration)
-Licensed in Allen county (fee is covered and transferable to locals)
-Potty trained
-Crate trained (it's his safe space!)
-Will benefit from continued training, such as recall and basic commands.
-Walks well on a leash, slip lead, and/or harness. He is a *flight risk* so multiple points of contact are a must.
-Tolerates baths, nail trims, and being brushed.

Balto and his RayRay! He's become attached to her this past week or so.🫶🏼 Sometimes I forget how nervous Raven used to be, which makes me appreciate their little relationship even more. Who knew she'd be such a good foster sister??
