FINALLY. Our first hatch of jumbo coturnix. Excellent hatch rate. We had one hen surprise us, by throwing dotted white chicks. This group will be going into our stock.
Incubators will be loaded up again this week.

Long post. A lot going on here this weekend. Our last Netherland Dwarf bun found her new home. A little girl got her birthday wish. She'd been doing lots of research on rabbit care. Glad to see a match made. 💜
Several chicks found new homes. We added a beautiful adult, Cochin pair(in their own coop), plus several chicks, of new breeds. More chicks hatching today. Our quail have finally been laying enough to get the incubator fired up. These will be going back into our stock to balance out our hen/roo ratio. When we purchased our covey, the numbers given were not what we requested so it threw everything off, & laying much, much later than it should have been.
New cages. They're divided, and happily laying. FINALLY.

In today's news, someone felt the need to report us to animal control for animal welfare. You'll be happy to hear, zero issues. Our animals are happy, healthy, & taken care of.
I'm sorry that not everyone appreciates the farm life.

Both of these are chicken eggs, laid the same day. On the left, a lash egg(yolkless). 0.6oz On the right, the egg weighed in at a massive 3.45oz! Largest one yet! We've had several that have been 3oz from our hens.
