4 more weeks, gang, and then you can have your house back!

Clearly, today is the day for exploring more floor surfaces and areas. They are wiped out from the mental stimulation and more freedom to stretch their legs. Not a single potty accident yet! šŸ‘ I know itā€™s coming, letā€™s be real, they are only 4 weeks old but doing phenomenal!!

The Happy Campers week 4 photos. This past week was busy! We began weaning and eating mush, which is made up of raw goat's milk and ground-up puppy kibble. We need to work on slowing down the crew when they eat, as they love it and try to eat it as fast as they can. The girls seem to take over the food trays; they wonā€™t be ordering salad and water on their future dates! šŸ˜‚ We have also learned to really engage in play and are now testing our limits with biting each other. Those little piranha teeth are sharp! They are playing more and napping less, which is a lot of fun! Itā€™s still a struggle getting a group picture, so I made a sticker from one I had taken today and pasted it onto our backdrop - whatever works for now.šŸ˜‰

Puppies go through a daily routine of desensitization practices at Trailsides. Itā€™s important to us to expose them to everyday sounds, sights, surfaces, and handling, thereby fostering confidence, resilience, and mitigating anxiety or reactivity rooted in fear. This process transforms emotional responses into positive ones, making their life, as well as their owners' lives, more rewarding and less stressful.

Observing the rapid growth of these cuties is truly remarkable. At 3 weeks old, they exhibit noticeable changes daily. The transition to weaning has begun, and they are gradually learning to consume raw goat's milk from a dish. Itā€™s been quite sloppy, but they are picking it up quickly. Before long, they will become more energetic and require less sleep. Their playful nature is quite entertaining. Additionally, they have discovered the ability to bark, which is very cute at this stage.
