Why do we focus on desensitizing puppies here at Trailside Aussies? It is crucial for developing well-adjusted, confident dogs. By starting our puppies off early with ENS (early neurological stimulation) combined with desensitization we can help them learn to adapt to the noises all around them on a daily basis. Here is Ember showing off her confidence and comfort at a trail race. She received lots of love and attention from participants and spectators and loved every minute of it! I was very proud of her! She is just an example of what we strive to produce. 😊

How does one spell happiness? To me, it is forging an unbreakable bond with my puppy owners and creating lasting friendships that form into one big happy family.

This weekend I arrived at a trail race knowing that the participants would be divided into random teams to complete as many mountain trail loops as possible in 10 hours. Imagine my excitement when teams were announced and I was paired up with Lucy’s family, (AKA Sierra from the Mountain Movers Litter) We all share a love of Aussies and trail running so it goes without saying our team name quickly became “Team Aussie.” 🐾

Together we conquered 105+ miles in 10 hours, each completing at least 35, and although we didn’t win, we created unforgettable memories. 😊

I look forward to sharing some trail miles with John and Lizzie and all the pups in the future. My crew showed up at the finish to offer their support and Meeko even brought me into the finish line.❤️

UPDATE 🥰

Blaze AKA as Birch from the Little Saplings Litter is living up to his name by standing next to a “Blaze” on a tree marking the Appalachian trail. His future will involve lots of time hiking with his people on the AT, but for now he is enjoying short walks to familiarize himself with nature and all the beauty it has to offer. He also discovered that he loves the water and will be a water rat on those hot Summer days. Isn’t he just the sweetest and cutest thing?🥰

Nothing makes us happier than seeing him enjoying his life!☺️

Received these pictures and text from Wren’s owner. She is also known as Maple from the Little Saplings Litter. It’s always so nice getting these kind of texts and seeing how the pups are doing. No need to worry about her, she is well loved and cared for!☺️

“Update on Wrenie! She has been swimming to cool herself during the heatwave, coming with mommy on car rides to watch Cody play softball, posing for pictures in her pretty bandanas, taking lots of naps, and watching me like a hawk ☺️”

UPDATE 🥰

Lucy, also known as Sierra from the Mountain Movers litter 2024, has grown into a stunning young dog. I recently had the pleasure of spending some time with her parents and learning more about her personality and development. She delights in playfully teasing her housemate Penny and is currently navigating the challenges of adolescence. While this stage can be trying for her owners, it is clear that they adore her. Lucy enjoys exploring trails and is quickly becoming an excellent trail buddy. Her growth into a beautiful dog is apparent. We miss her but we know she is right where she belongs with so much love coming to her daily!☺️

Yesterday Ember had the opportunity to meet her half-sister Callie. They are 5 weeks apart. Callie was born in NC and Ember was born in PA. What a fun time! Thank you Matt and Kristen for coming to play! It was so great getting to meet you all. We can’t wait to do it again! We appreciate all the pictures you shared with us. You can definitely tell the 2 are related. Their Daddy Paxton from Smokin’ Aces Aussies can be proud!
