The pool can be a training environment too.

New surfaces, moving water, toys, excitement, people nearby… there’s a lot for a dog to process.

That makes it a great place to practice simple skills like:
🐾 Recall
🐾 Waiting before jumping in
🐾 Checking in with the handler
🐾 Coming back down after excitement

Training doesn’t have to stop when the fun starts. In fact, that’s often where the most useful practice happens.

When the mornings get hectic, it helps to have a dog who understands:
✔ where to go
✔ how to stay there
✔ how to relax while life happens around them

Back-to-school can make people feel guilty about spending less time with their dog...

But the real issue usually isn’t less time.
It’s less structure. 🐶

Dogs do better when they can predict the rhythm of their day:
☀️ potty break
🍽 meal time
🐾 walk or training
🧸 downtime
💤 rest

When the schedule changes, many dogs struggle not because you’re busy...
but because the day suddenly feels random.

A little consistency goes a long way.
