ALL SHELLS ARE NOT CREATED EQUALLY.

Hermit crabs require an intact, natural (unpainted) shell that can retain water. Each species has a preferred shell shape, although there may be occasional exceptions. It is recommended to have 3 to 5 shells available for each hermit crab, ensuring that they are of appropriate size and style to accommodate growth. As you become more familiar with your hermit crab, you will gain insights into their specific shell preferences.

This is a fantastic video to give you an idea of where to start when it comes to finding the correct shell for the species of hermit crab you have.

Our trickortreaters last night got a spooky surprise: a hermitcrab coloring packet! 🎃🐚 Because who needs candy when you can unleash your inner Picasso on a crustacean masterpiece? Huge shoutout to Crabuloushermitsco (on Etsy), Crab Central Stationn and Hermit House for this collaboration and making our Halloween a little more... shell-tastic! The older kids also recieved Mudd Beach Land Hermit Crab Rescue pens for school.
