Marshmallow had her spay day today! She's transitioned so well to indoor life that with the happy blessings of her colony's caretaker, we've decided to get her adopted rather than return her!! She would probably celebrate, but the drugs haven't *quite* worn off yet!!

Our volunteers are out saving lives today. We are working with our rescue partners in Wise County to save 2 dogs. Sweet and scared little Wanda will be staying with us while lovely Lola is going to our local partners at Loudoun County Animal Shelter.

Wanda will be available for adoption in a few days, once she gets checked out by our vets, and is given the ok from them. We will probably also give her a new name to go with her new life. She is a 2 year old fiest mix that was found as a stray.

This is one of the best barn setups we’ve ever seen! The cats who call this palace ‘home’ had few other options at the local shelters. They weren’t socialized to humans, they were used to being outdoors and loved their fellow feline tribe more than people. We are always looking for good barn homes like this one, owned by folks who are happy to let the cats just be cats and don’t necessarily want or need outdoor, socialized pets. If you have some acreage, a detached garage, a barn, a nice ‘she’ shed, and you have a big heart for wild critters, apply to adopt some barn cats with us today. UPDATE: we found a nice lady to foster/maybe adopt! She will give Barley the time he needs to adjust to his new surroundings and we will support her however she needs. We are so happy this boy has a chance for a normal life! Foster/Adopt 9-1-1. Special Person needed for Barley! Barley has spent his entire life in an industrial park’s cement office building with no windows. He hasn’t seen the sun or trees or birds for 4 years. Setting Delta Free Delta is a community cat who catches mice like a boss. After two litters, it was time for her to be caught and spayed to keep the size of her colony in check. The National CLEAR THE SHELTERS EVENT is coming Saturday August 18. All adoption fees are waived for animals at our event this Saturday as part of the National Clear the Shelters Adoption Event through NBC4 (Washington, D.C.) and Telemundo44. Meet Miss BODIE ROSE. BODIE ROSE is one of the cats that will be participating in the Clear the Shelters event Saturday. She recently came to us from a dangerous and overcrowded shelter in WV. Bodie Rose is a young and very sweet cat. As you can see, she likes feather toys too. Bodie Rose also loves snuggling with her foster mom and hanging out on the cat tree looking out the window. As a black cat Bodie Rose was at a higher risk of being euthanized in the shelter since they are overlooked more than other cats. But we saved this beautiful, playful and sweet girl and now is your chance to adopt this beauty without paying an adoption fee thanks to Clear the Shelters. Sweet Berlin is still looking for his furever home. This handsome lavender boy was rescued as a kitten from the side of the road, where someone had abandoned him. That was a year ago and for some reason no one has wanted to adopt Berlin. While his foster mom enjoys having him around, and Berlin gets along great with her cats and even her big dogs, she would love to see Berlin get his own permanent furever home. Berlin's only requirement is that he has to have another friendly cat about his age to play and bond with. Berlin absolutely loves the company and companionship of other cats and they also help his confidence. Berlin can be a little shy at first but with a little time and patience, and another playful cat, Berlin will learn to love and trust his new humans. What are you waiting on?
