I have a favor to ask from my followers....
Keep Tammy Hamlett, Tanner, and Loki in your thoughts for me please. He is having some lumbar issues that could be an injury or more to his back.
We are hoping that this is just an injury that he can recover from....On the opposite side of that...
I WANT TO REITERATE that Siberians do have 1 issue that they are susceptable to... that is Hip Dysplasia. It IS a bone disorder.
Having said that, there have been NO reports to me from any of my owners about ANY health issues, bone, joint, or otherwise. Copper is the eldest dog in the family right now and he is showing no signs of this.
IT IS ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA to get screened for Hip Dysplasia when it comes to Siberians. It is not a requirement but it IS something you can prepare for. I am keeping a close eye on the situation and will report back to my owners.
One easy thing to do to combat any bone issues early on is to make sure that your pup is getting Calcium supplements from pure eggshells or calcium powder. 500mg of eggshells for every 10 lbs that your pup weighs. Natural chicken eggshells also contain Chondroitin which is also beneficial to bone and joint health.
Thank you everyone.
