Twyla's Friends We are a Volunteer run, 501c3 non-profit foster-based Dog rescue in Kingwood, TX without a shelter Twyla's Friends is a 501(3)(c) charity organization.

Our mission is to help abandoned and rescued dogs in our community through veterinary assistance and help with placement in permanent homes. Twyla's Friends is a volunteer organization with no shelter or kennel facilities. All donations are used to help pay veterinary expenses for dogs in immediate need.

Who’s in the mood for a Happy Tails this Monday?!

This one is a bit of a throwback since Lane was adopted from us at the end of 2025, but her pictures are too cute not to share.

Lane is one of the Gilmore Girls puppies and she’s as happy as can be! She’s got the best of both worlds as an only dog who gets all of her parents love and attention, while also getting to go out on adventures and play dates all the time. We couldn’t be happier for her.

Would you even believe us if we said this was Libby?!

Libby went back to the vet this week and got her first round of puppy shots. Every available vet tech couldn’t help but stop by and love on her. She thought it was the best thing ever! She got so many kisses and treats that she didn’t even notice the needles. 😉

Both boys are less than two years old, so they still have plenty of playful puppy energy. They both love making new friends, whether that’s adults, kids, or other pups - they’re happy to hang out with anyone! Scotty and KC will make easy and fun additions to almost any family. 💚🐾

Our little diva, Giselle, is still looking for a forever home! Giselle is so sweet and cuddly and playful with her people. We also think she’s just about as cute as they come, just look at those puppy dog eye! 🥹

She would do best in a home with no other dogs, and no small children. She really prefers women, but can definitely co-exist with men who respect her boundaries. We know that narrows down her options a bit, but we also think she worth the extra effort it takes to find a home she’ll thrive in. 💚

Public meet and greets can be hard for Diesel at first because he doesn’t know if he can trust strangers, but he LOVES other dogs. As I’m sure you can hear we were all very proud of him when he decided to come hang out with the rest of us! Diesel is such a sweet boy once he gets to know you.

Meet KC! We think he’s a Chihuahua / Beagle mix (our best guess), he’s 18 lbs and just under 2 years old. He’s still has a lot of puppy energy and is ready to play! 🎾

KC would love a family who is home a lot that would let him be involved in whatever is happening. He’s happiest when he’s right underfoot, helping you out with whatever you’re doing! And when it’s time to relax, he’ll be right there with you too. He’s a Velcro dog to the max.

KC is pretty neutral with the other dogs in the home, so he doesn’t need a four-legged companion, but he’s wouldn’t mind one either. He’s 100% potty trained, does well in the crate after a short (but very loud) protest, and is a great listener in general. With some basic structure and consistency, KC will make an amazing addition to the family. 💚🐾
