Meet Cole — a sweet boy with a story everyone should read.
In March, Cole was cruelly dumped on the side of the road in Las Vegas, Nevada. At first glance, he appeared lifeless. But on closer inspection, it became clear he was still clinging to life. Severely dehydrated, overheated, and barely moving, Cole’s skin was covered in infection, and his paws were raw and swollen. His condition was critical.
The kind-hearted individual who found him immediately reached out to . Thanks to their quick action, and with support from the individual who found him, Cole was transferred to and rushed to an animal hospital for emergency care.
Doctors diagnosed Cole with severe mange and multiple skin infections. Tragically, he is also deaf due to untreated ear infections. Whether he’ll regain his hearing is still unknown. A microchip revealed that Cole had been adopted from The Animal Foundation — first in 2020, then returned and adopted again in 2021. Animal Protective Services is now investigating his case.
Since being released from the hospital, Cole has been recovering in a loving foster home. His foster mom shared that Cole’s skin is healing well, though he still has some medical issues that need to be addressed. He’s very friendly with people and dogs and is fully house-trained. However, he’s shown a strong interest in cats, so a cat-free home might be best.
Cole’s story is heartbreaking, but his spirit is inspiring. Part of our team had the chance to meet him last week — we can all say, without a doubt, that he is the sweetest boy. He deserves a forever home where he will be cherished, loved, given the care he needs.
