Please review the following links to familiarize yourself with the City of Newton's NEW ordinances as a pet owner and to understand how to better safeguard your pet in the event that it becomes lost.

Period Dogs Required To Be Kept:
All dogs found without a license, collar engraving, microchip or similar owner identification shall be kept for not less than three days after being impounded unless redeemed sooner by the owner in accordance with this ordinance. Dogs with identification shall be kept for not less than seven days after being impounded unless redeemed sooner by the owner. On expiration of the impoundment period, a dog shall be deemed abandoned and may be transferred to a shelter facility. Dogs that are deemed unadoptable due to behavior issues, as determined by standardized behavioral assessment processes, or due to health issues, as determined by a licensed veterinarian or medical professional, may be humanely euthanized in accordance with the law (City Code §90.32).

This attractive, scruffy boy was retrieved from the rain in the County on N 39th Ave E, near TPI and the Train Yard, without any identification. Help us find his family. Have them call 641-792-0340.
