🐶 Today is Dog on a Lead Day! 🐾
A reminder that if a dog is on a leash, it’s for a reason — and we should respect that.

🚫 Don’t assume you can pet.
✅ Always ask the owner first — and respect the answer, even if it’s no.

🐕‍🦺 Some dogs may be:
• Nervous or in training
• Recovering from surgery
• Working through reactivity
• Not comfortable with strangers

👣 Give leashed dogs space. Let them pass without crowding or letting your own dog rush up to them — even if your dog is friendly!

💧🐾 National Pet Hydration Awareness Month 🐾💧

It’s heating up—so let’s talk hydration!

Just like us, dogs and cats need plenty of fresh water to stay cool, healthy, and happy—especially during summer!

✅ Signs of dehydration in pets:

Dry nose or gums

Panting (beyond normal)
Loss of skin elasticity

💡 Tips to keep your pets hydrated:

Keep multiple bowls of clean water indoors and out
Use pet fountains to encourage drinking
Add water or broth to meals (especially for cats!)
Never leave pets outside too long in hot temps

Here are a few quick tips:

✅ Add fresh bedding or cooling mats
✅ Make sure it’s shaded and well-ventilated
✅ Keep it clean and cozy!

🎆 Fireworks May Be Over, But the Stress Isn’t 🎆

Yesterday was the 4th of July, and while the loud booms might (hopefully) be done, many dogs and cats are still recovering from the stress and sensory overload.

💔 If your pet seems extra clingy, tired, jumpy, or withdrawn today—that’s normal.

💡 Give them:
🐾 A quiet space
🐾 Gentle routines
🐾 Extra patience
🐾 Time to feel safe again

Don’t force walks, guests, or play if they’re not ready. Let them decompress at their own pace. 💕

They’ll get back to their normal selves soon—with your support. 🐶🐱

🎆 Fourth of July Pet Safety Tips! 🎆

While we’re enjoying fireworks, BBQs, and summer fun, many of our pets are feeling stressed, scared, or overwhelmed. Here are a few ways to keep your dogs and cats safe and calm this Independence Day:

🐾 Keep pets indoors – even if they’re usually fine outside, fireworks can cause them to panic and bolt.
🐾 Create a safe space – a cozy room with soft music, closed curtains, and familiar items can help reduce stress.
🐾 Update ID tags and microchips – in case your pet does get out, make sure your contact info is current.
🐾 Skip the party scraps – rich or fatty foods can upset their stomach, and bones can be dangerous.
🐾 Exercise early – walk dogs earlier in the day before the noise starts.
🐾 Never bring pets to fireworks shows – even the calmest animals can react unpredictably.

💡 Bonus tip: Some pets respond well to calming chews, wraps, or enrichment toys to help distract and soothe them.
