Welcome Keri Embry to AC ARF! Keri has recently joined our board of directors and we are so happy to have her on our team!

Keri has worked closely with us for several years as our main foster for cats/kittens through her Embry Kitty Fosters program. She has shown her dedication, sacrifice and love for so many! And has saved so many lives!❤️🐱

Keri is also a retired veteran from the US Air Force and is now teaching at Lake City Elementary School where she is as amazing with kids as she is with animals in need.

Facebook Friends, would you just LOOK at this beautiful girl?! 🥹❤️

**THIS IS BANANA!!!**

The same little girl who came to Embry Kitty Fosters from a colony with absolutely ZERO trust in humans.

The same little girl who once wanted nothing to do with being touched, held, or even approached.

And now?!

**SHE SEEKS OUT HER FOSTER MOMMA FOR AFFECTION!!!** 😻

Look at those pictures!

Those relaxed little paws.

Those sleepy eyes.

That completely content little face.

Banana has learned that she can come find me, settle in, stretch out, and just... **RELAX.** 🧡

No need to run.

No need to hide.

No need to be on high alert.

Just a warm blanket, a familiar human, and the comfort of knowing she's safe.

And Facebook Friends, THAT is a HUGE accomplishment for this little girl!

One of the most rewarding things about fostering a kitten who has struggled to trust humans is watching the moment they begin to understand that affection doesn't have to be scary.

**Banana is no longer just tolerating affection. She's CHOOSING it!** ❤️

And that's what makes these pictures so special.

Nobody forced her to come cuddle.

Nobody made her stay.

She chose to be there, and she was comfortable enough to close her eyes and relax.

For a kitty who once wanted absolutely nothing to do with humans, that's incredible progress! 🥹

Now, I want everyone to understand something important.

**Banana trusts ME.**

She knows my voice, my routines, my home, and my resident kitties.

When she goes to her furever home, she'll need time to build that same trust with her new family.

She may hide at first. She may be hesitant. She may need days, weeks, or longer to feel completely comfortable.

And that's OKAY!

Because I've seen what happens when Banana is given the patience, understanding, and freedom to make her own choices.

**THIS is what happens!** ❤️

A sweet, affectionate little girl who seeks out her human and settles in for some peaceful cuddle time.

Somewhere out there is a family who will give Banana the opportunity to become this comfortable in a home of her very own.

With Maple, Acorn, Nutmeg, and C***r graduating from Embry Kitty Fosters, it's time to turn our attention to a very special young lady who has been patiently waiting for her own happily ever after.

**MEET BANANA!!!** 🍌😻

Banana isn't just another beautiful kitty looking for a home. She's a little girl who has worked SO HARD to learn that humans can be trusted.

When Banana first came to Embry Kitty Fosters from a colony, she wanted absolutely NOTHING to do with people.

Trust? NOPE.

Being touched? ABSOLUTELY NOT.

Cuddles? DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT! 🙀

But something wonderful happened...

With patience, consistency, gentle affection, and the freedom to make her own choices, Banana started letting her guard down.

And little by little, she began to BLOSSOM! 🥹🧡

Today, Banana is a completely different little girl!

🐾 She seeks out affection when she's comfortable.

🐾 She enjoys cuddling and being close to Foster Momma.

🐾 She has learned that a warm bed and loving hands are pretty wonderful things!

🐾 She's comfortable living with other cats.

🐾 And most importantly, **she's learning that she gets to CHOOSE when she's ready to trust.**

That beautiful little girl sleeping peacefully, snuggling, and giving Foster Momma affection is the SAME kitty who once wanted nothing to do with humans!

**THAT IS WHAT PATIENCE AND LOVE CAN DO!** ❤️

But here's the thing...

Banana is comfortable with ME.

She knows my voice, my routines, my home, and my resident kitties.

A new home will mean new people, new smells, and new surroundings. She may need time to feel safe again.

And that's OKAY!!!

I'm looking for a family who understands that the best relationships aren't always built overnight.

Well... Foster Momma says **THIS IS IT!** 🙀

Our FINAL adventure as Embry Kitty Fosters kittens!

And wouldn't you know it...

**IT INVOLVES A CARRIER!!!** 😾

Facebook Friends, we have been VERY clear about our feelings regarding carriers and adventures!

So naturally, when Foster Momma brought THAT THING out this morning, we felt...

**BETRAYED. AGAIN.**

But this time, something was different!

**WE ALL GOT TO RIDE TOGETHER!!!** 😻

No separate carriers! No being split up! Just the four of us, snuggled together on our blanket, preparing for whatever nonsense Foster Momma had planned.

Of course, she couldn't resist one final attempt at getting some good pictures.

🤣🤣🤣

Oh, Foster Momma...

**HAVE YOU LEARNED NOTHING?!**

We have spent our entire lives refusing to cooperate with your photography sessions!

Did you REALLY think putting all four of us in one carrier was going to change that?!

We gave her backsides.

We gave her blurry faces.

We gave her heads turned in every possible direction.

We even gave her a few moments where we ALMOST looked at the camera together.

**ALMOST.** 😹

Foster Momma just laughed and said she'll never forget her **"handful" litter.**

Well, GOOD!

**THAT WAS THE PLAN ALL ALONG!!!** 😼

We've worked VERY hard to make sure she remembers us!

From midnight bottles and messy gruel to climbing everything in sight, demanding food, escaping her camera, and generally keeping her on her toes...

We have been a FULL-TIME JOB!

And we wouldn't change a thing. 🧡

But today's adventure is a special one.

Foster Momma says we're officially graduating from **Embry Kitty Fosters** and heading to **Humane Society, Tennessee Valley (HSTV)** to find our FUREVER FAMILIES!

**THAT MEANS WE'RE READY FOR ADOPTION!!!**

Now, Foster Momma says there's something important she wants everyone to understand.

She volunteers as a foster directly with **Anderson County Animal Rescue Foundation (AC ARF)**.

**HSTV is a rescue partner with AC ARF**, which is how we get this wonderful opportunity to find our furever homes!

And apparently, Foster Momma is VERY picky about where her foster mommas and babies end up.

😳

We're not surprised.

Have you MET this woman?!

She worries about EVERYTHING!

But she says she loves the adoption screening and approval processes used by **both AC ARF and HSTV**, because she wants to know that the babies she has poured her heart into raising will go to loving, responsible homes.

She says that knowing we're in good hands makes saying goodbye a little easier.

And since **HSTV will be handling OUR adoptions**, that's where anyone interested in adopting us should go!

Now, about this whole goodbye business...

Foster Momma says she's going to miss us.

A LOT.

We suspect she's probably going to cry.

But she told us something this morning...

**"You were never meant to stay with me forever. You were meant to stay with me until you were ready for forever."** 🥹🧡

We don't understand all that human emotional stuff.

But we DO know that Foster Momma loved us when we were tiny, helpless bottle babies.

She loved us when we were covered in gruel.

She loved us when we kept her awake at night.

And somehow, she STILL loves us even though we've spent the last several weeks testing every ounce of her patience! 😹

Now it's time for us to take everything she taught us and begin our next chapter.

🐾🧡 NEXT EPISODE: WE'RE A HANDFUL... AND OUR NEXT BIG ADVENTURE IS COMING! 🧡🐾

Dearest Facebook Friends.....

Foster Momma has been calling us a "HANDFUL."

We aren't entirely sure what that means, but judging by the way she says it while shaking her head and laughing, we suspect it's a compliment. 😸

We also overheard her telling someone that we are THE MOST RAMBUNCTIOUS KITTENS SHE HAS EVER HAD FOLLOWING SURGERY!

🙀🙀🙀🙀

Well, EXCUUUUSE US!

What exactly did she expect?!

We survived the Great Food & Water Heist of 2026.

We endured being separated into individual carriers.

We went on an adventure WITHOUT Foster Momma.

We had SURGERY.

And now she expects us to just... SIT STILL?!

🤣🤣🤣

Facebook Friends, we have a reputation to maintain!

We are Maple, Acorn, Nutmeg & C***r!

We have been keeping Foster Momma on her toes since we were teeny tiny bottle babies!

Why would we stop now?!

Besides, we have important kitten business to attend to!

There are things to climb!

Toys to chase!

Siblings to pounce on!

Food bowls to investigate!

And, most importantly, FOSTER MOMMA TO KEEP ENTERTAINED!

We wouldn't want her getting bored. 😇

But then Foster Momma told us something that made us stop and listen...

She said our FOSTER JOURNEY IS COMING TO AN END. 🥹🧡

Wait.

WHAT?!

She said that very soon, we're going to meet our FUREVER FAMILIES!

She explained that there are families out there who are going to love us, cuddle us, play with us, and give us homes of our very own.

And then she said something that REALLY got our attention...

THERE WILL BE SNACKS!!! 😻😻😻😻

LOTS OF LOVE AND SNACKS!!!

Facebook Friends, WHY DIDN'T SHE LEAD WITH THAT?!

We are VERY interested in this arrangement!

Foster Momma says that someday soon, instead of waking up in the foster room, we'll wake up in our very own homes, surrounded by people who love us.

We'll have new places to explore, new laps to nap in, and new humans to train!

And we are apparently VERY good at training humans. 😹

But...

Does that mean we won't see Foster Momma every day anymore? 🥺

Or Auntie Jo?

Or Uncle Manicotti?

Or all our other foster siblings?

Foster Momma says that's the hardest part of fostering.

She says she has loved us since we were tiny babies who needed her for EVERYTHING.

She remembers when we couldn't eat on our own.

When we needed help staying warm.

When she had to get up throughout the night to feed us.

When we were learning to walk, use the litterbox, and eat our very first messy meals of gruel.

Remember the GRUEL, Facebook Friends?!

We were practically professional gruel artists! 🤣

She watched us grow from helpless little babies into the healthy, happy, rambunctious kittens we are today.

And now...

We're almost ready to fly the nest. 🧡

Foster Momma says that even though saying goodbye will make her cry, those will be happy tears.

Because this is what she has been working toward all along.

She didn't raise us to stay little forever.

She raised us to grow up, be healthy, be loved, and have wonderful lives with families of our very own.

🥹🧡

We don't understand all of that just yet.

But we DO understand love.

We've known it since the very beginning.

It came in warm bottles, soft blankets, gentle hands, sleepy snuggles, and a Foster Momma who always came when we cried.

And now she says it's time for us to take all that love she's given us and share it with our furever families.

We think we can do that. 🧡

But first...

We have a few more days to keep Foster Momma on her toes!

And we fully intend to make the MOST of them!

After all...

WE ARE A HANDFUL!!!

And we're pretty sure she's going to miss every single bit of our nonsense. 😹🧡

SHE DIDN'T FORGET US!!! 😭🧡

After the absolute BETRAYAL we experienced this morning—no food, no water, individual carriers, and then being sent off on an adventure WITHOUT HER—we had some very serious concerns about the future of our relationship with Foster Momma.

But guess who was there waiting for us when we were ready to leave?!

FOSTER MOMMA!!! 🥹🧡

She came back for us!

We were so relieved to see her!

There was just one teeny, tiny problem...

SHE. DID. NOT. BRING. SNACKS.

😕 😒 😐 🙄

Facebook Friends, we had been through A LOT.

We were hungry.

We were tired.

We had endured unspeakable indignities.

We had SURGERY.

Surely Foster Momma would arrive bearing a feast worthy of four brave little kittens who had survived the Great Adventure of 2026.

Nope.

Not. One. Snack.

Foster Momma claims she didn't want to feed us before the drive home because she was worried we might get carsick.

Excuses.

We have informed her that we are VERY disappointed in her decision-making today.

Fortunately, we have an entire car ride home to discuss the matter.

Loudly.

Repeatedly.

From four separate carriers.

ALL. THE. WAY. HOME. 📢📢📢📢

Foster Momma listened to our proposed itinerary for the drive and simply said...

"Ok."

😳

She didn't even argue.

We're beginning to suspect she's just really, really happy to have us back. 🥹🧡

So don't worry, Facebook Friends. Foster Momma didn't forget us. She came back just like she promised, we're all together again, and we're headed HOME.

Now we just need to survive this completely unreasonable delay between us and dinner.

Please keep us in your thoughts during this difficult time.

🐾💔 Next Episode: THE ULTIMATE BETRAYAL 💔🐾

Dearest Facebook Friends.....

We have been GROSSLY NEGLECTED, and at this point, we are convinced Foster Momma no longer loves us. 😿💔

It all started LAST NIGHT.

Foster Momma came into our room and TOOK AWAY OUR FOOD.

Then...

SHE TOOK AWAY OUR WATER. 🙀

We waited.

Surely she was bringing it back.

She did not.

We screamed our concerns. We explained that growing kittens require nourishment. We reminded her that we are practically wasting away before her very eyes.

She remained unmoved. 😾

AND THEN she wouldn't even let Auntie Jo, Uncle Manicotti, or any of the big kitties stay with us!

Foster Momma here: I wasn't about to make the big kitties go without food and water too, and I definitely wasn't going to risk anyone getting cranky and taking their frustration out on the babies.

Whatever, Foster Momma. Excuses. 🙄

We survived the night somehow.

But this morning?

THE CARRIERS CAME OUT.

🙀🙀🙀🙀

WE KNOW ABOUT THE CARRIERS.

WE KNOW WHAT CARRIERS MEAN.

ADVENTURES.

Except this time she put EACH OF US in our OWN CARRIER.

Separately.

ALONE. 😭

Yes, she carefully put a soft blanket in each one.

But Facebook Friends, a blanket is NOT A SIBLING.

A blanket is NOT FOSTER MOMMA'S LAP.

A blanket does NOT cuddle you back.

And then came the greatest betrayal of all...

Foster Momma loaded us into a vehicle...

AND SHE DIDN'T GET IN WITH US.

😳

This is our FIRST CAR RIDE WITHOUT FOSTER MOMMA.

WHAT IS HAPPENING?!?!

Foster Momma says this is one of the hardest 24 hours for her, too. She says hearing us cry absolutely breaks her heart. 💔 She keeps telling us that we're going to be okay, that this is an important day, and that she will be the one coming to pick us up.

We vaguely remember her saying something about an important day where we "won't be having babies."

Again...

WE ARE BABIES. WHY WOULD WE HAVE BABIES?! 🙄

Whatever is happening, we would like it officially documented that we did NOT consent to this adventure.

And when Foster Momma comes to pick us up, there had better be cuddles.

LOTS of cuddles.

Possibly snacks.

Actually, definitely snacks.

We anticipate requiring an extensive recovery package consisting of wet food, kisses, snuggles, apologies, and being told approximately 847 times how brave we are. 😿🧡

Foster Momma says she'll happily pay every bit of that ransom just to have us safely back in her arms. 🥹

Wish us luck, Facebook Friends. Apparently today we're taking another big step toward becoming BIG KITTENS. 🐾🧡

🍌🧡 BANANA IS STILL WAITING FOR HER FUREVER FAMILY! 🧡🍌

Facebook Friends, can we give our sweet Banana another big round of shares? Somewhere out there is the family this girl has been learning to trust humans for. 🥹

If you've followed Banana's story from the beginning, you know just how far she has come. This little girl came to us from a colony with very little trust in people. For a long time, simply being near her without her running away was progress.

And now?

Banana has turned into such a sweet, loving kitty. 🧡

She seeks out affection. She enjoys being loved on. She gets comfortable enough to truly relax around the people she trusts. We've watched her confidence grow little by little, and every bit of affection she gives means that much more because Banana chooses it.

But there's something her future family needs to understand: Banana isn't likely to meet you and immediately decide you're her new best friend.

You're going to have to earn her trust, too.

She will need time, patience, gentleness and a family willing to let her relationship with them develop at her pace. But I've had the privilege of seeing what is waiting on the other side of that patience—and this sweet girl is absolutely worth it. 🥰

Because Banana needs that extra little bit of understanding, she will remain here at Embry Kitty Fosters while we search for the right family. We want her transition from foster care into her forever home to be as comfortable and successful as possible.

It's really very simple.

Foster Momma has been trying for an ENTIRE WEEK to get some nice pictures of us.

You know... the kind where we're sitting still, looking at the camera, maybe showing off how much we've grown and how adorable we've become.

We had other plans.

Turn your head.

Run away.

Jump down.

Climb higher.

Come toward the camera at full speed.

Become a mysterious kitten-shaped blur.

Look absolutely precious... until the EXACT SECOND she takes the picture.

We have worked very hard at this. 😸

HOW'D WE DO?!

Foster Momma says she really wanted some good pictures because apparently we have a VERY IMPORTANT DAY coming up.

We immediately became suspicious.

We've heard phrases like "important day" before.

They usually lead to carriers.

Carriers lead to the car.

So naturally we asked what was so important.

Foster Momma said it's important because after this particular adventure...

WE WON'T BE ABLE TO HAVE BABIES.

Ma'am.

WE ARE BABIES.

Why in the world would babies need to worry about having babies?!?!

We have FAR more important responsibilities right now.

We have cat trees to climb.

Foster siblings to annoy.

Uncle Manicotti to supervise.

Auntie Jo to follow around.

Food bowls that require constant inspection.

Foster Momma's lap that must be occupied.

And approximately 4,782 things we haven't knocked over yet.

We do not have TIME to raise children. 😹

Foster Momma says that's exactly the point.

Hmph.

We have a feeling there are some details about this upcoming "important day" that Foster Momma is conveniently leaving out...

P.S. Foster Momma says getting us spayed and neutered is one of the most important things she can do for us before we're ready for the next chapter of our lives. We still think the phrase "important appointment" sounds suspiciously like ADVENTURE.

🐾 The Adventures of Maple, Acorn, Nutmeg & C***r: WE'RE BACK!!! 🐾

Dearest Facebook Friends....

WE'RE BAAAAACK!!! 😸🐾🧡

We know we've been suspiciously quiet lately.

That's because Foster Momma has been dealing with some health issues, and when we say she was tired...

We mean EXHAUSTED.

How exhausted?

She came into the Foster Room to spend time with us, started rocking us to sleep...

AND THEN SHE FELL ASLEEP TOO. 😹

Right there in the Foster Room.

We're certainly not complaining about being rocked to sleep by Foster Momma. That part was actually pretty wonderful. 🧡

But...

Foster Momma?

You have an entire BED.

A very LARGE bed.

A bed with blankets and pillows and all sorts of wonderful places for kittens to run, pounce, wrestle and launch surprise attacks while you sleep.

We're just saying...

There were better options. 😂

Anyhow...

While Facebook hasn't been getting updates, something has been happening behind the scenes.

WE'VE GROWN!!! 🙀

Foster Momma keeps looking at us and saying we're nearly "there."

We're not exactly sure where there is...

But she's also been talking to her friends at Anderson County Animal Rescue Foundation about something called...

"appointments." 👀

Ummmm.

Doesn't appointment sound dangerously similar to...

ADVENTURE?! 🙀🙀🙀🙀

We have experience with adventures.

We do not trust this development.

We will continue investigating and report back.

In the meantime, Foster Momma being so tired meant we spent a lot more time in the Foster Room with our foster siblings and the Big Kitties.

And apparently growing is hungry work because Foster Momma has DOUBLED OUR WET FOOD.

Yes.

DOUBLED.

And somehow she STILL keeps accusing us of trying to eat her out of "house and home."

We don't know what that means.

We're just kittens.

Growing kittens.

Hungry growing kittens.

Hungry growing kittens who know Foster Momma has more cans.

OPEN THEM, WOMAN. 😹

But perhaps the biggest development during our little Facebook absence involves...

UNCLE MANICOTTI.

Auntie Jo and Uncle Manicotti have been spending the most time with us in the Foster Room. 🧡

Auntie Jo has always taken her supervisory responsibilities very seriously.

Uncle Manicotti, however...

Apparently decided that visiting wasn't enough.

He wanted to STAY.

Foster Momma tried to take him out of the Foster Room.

Manicotti objected.

Foster Momma tried again.

Manicotti made his feelings known.

And apparently Uncle Manicotti can be VERY persuasive when he believes Foster Momma has made an incorrect decision. 😂

Eventually Foster Momma was so tired that she basically said:

"Fine, Manicotti."

And left him in there.

So...

Facebook Friends...

After careful consideration, we have made an important decision.

WE HAVE ADOPTED UNCLE MANICOTTI. 😹🧡

We think he's ours now.

He lives with us.

He hangs out with us.

He apparently WANTS to hang out with us.

Therefore, according to Kitten Law...

OURS.

Foster Momma may believe Manicotti is one of her Resident Kitties, but we're pretty sure possession is nine-tenths of the law.

And he's currently in our Foster Room.

Case closed.

So that's what you've missed while we've been away, Facebook Friends!

We've been eating.

We've been growing.

We've been keeping Foster Momma company while she recovers.

We've apparently got some suspicious "appointments" coming.

And...

WE GOT A MANICOTTI! 😸😸😸😸

It's good to be back. 🧡
