Luna has the best smile on the trail! She thinks the camera is a toy, so it was easy to get some happy shots of her living her best life. Big energy at home, but so chill on the trails. And from what I hear, big chill at home right after the hikes. ❤️❤️❤️

This is a personal post I want to share with the Ruff Terrain family.

We had to say goodbye to our dog Tavvi last month. She and her litter were found with parvo in a dumpster in Georgia. Thanks to she was saved from this deadly disease and able to find her furever home with us.

Before I started Ruff Terrain, she was my hiking buddy of 12 years. She loved sprinting in the mountains, scouting the trail ahead, and sniffing for animal tracks.

We miss her so much. But we’re grateful for the 14 years we had with her. I know she’s climbing rocks and summiting peaks over the rainbow bridge ❤️

This winter warmth is making it harder for our thicker furred friends from getting the most of their hikes. So we’ve started taking our pups higher up into the mountains where it’s 20 degrees cooler than Lafayette and Louisville. I first met Milo at puppy camp! This sweet little boy pup has grown so much in 6 months! Milo’s first hike with Ruff Terrain was a blast. He got to dig his nose in the snow and did a little work on his leash skills.

Two weeks of holiday hikes with She showed up every day with her big heart ready to chew the biggest stick she could find on the trail. Rosie is such a gentle soul, and was really happy to say hi to kids who asked nicely for pets. No surprise she’s a therapy dog!
