As you might’ve noticed, I haven’t posted very much in August or early September! So instead, I will make one big recap post!

August was an exciting and exhilarating month! I traveled for over two weeks with Team Zoom Canine Entertainment, performing in stunt dog shows throughout Ohio! It was so fun, and the dogs and I had the time of our lives!

Afterward, my border collie Skyler and I competed in the AWI (frisbee) World Finals Last Chance Qualifier and got 13th place!! We are absolutely ecstatic with this achievement.

Tomorrow is another exciting day too! Wanderlust K9 will be attending the 2019 Lafayette Pet Expo! Stop by 3107 Olympia Drive between the hours of 10am - 6pm and say hello! We will also be giving a frisbee dog performance, time TBD.

Franco is ready to go home from his board & train program today!! This boy has come leaps and bounds since he arrived. He struggled for quite some time with anxious, restless behaviors. He is now able to walk nicely on leash and through stores, hold a down-stay with people around, and can stay on his platform while I cook an entire meal! Go Franco! 💫

Winston fully overcame his fear of platforms and totally conquered his board & train program!! 💪🏼 I couldn’t be more proud of this boy! He came here with several fears and anxieties, but turned into a dog who no longer gets carsick, LOVES his platform, walks wonderfully on a leash, greets strangers calmly, and has really great impulse control. Dogs like Winston are why I do what I do! 🌟

This week ONLY, (May 28th, 29th, 30th) we are offering a FREE pet portrait for every single Day Camp dog!

So what is Day Camp?? Day Camp is a specialized program for dogs who need behavior training, especially in public situations. We can work on settling during lunch at an outdoor diner, leash walking in pet-friendly stores, calm behavior at the vet, reactivity (barking) on walks, socializing with new people and dogs, and much more!

Alyssa will pick up your dog on whichever day you choose (May 28, 29, 30) between 9-10am from your home*. We will go on walks, hikes, get lots of exercise, and visit two public settings for training (restaurants, stores, etc). Your dog will get socialization time with other dogs (if your dog is dog-friendly), lots of exercise, lots of training, and a little bit of relaxation time. Between 4-5pm, your dog will be dropped off right at home. Afterward, you will receive a report in your email (with videos!) detailing your dog's activities for the day!

*only people who live within 15 minutes of Home Depot in Lafayette are eligible for home pickup. If you live outside this radius, contact us to determine a rally point.

Meet Tequila! She is the sweetest little Weimaraner. She is here for a board & train to learn how to be a calmer, more patient dog. Last night she walked around a store for a full 20 minutes without jumping on anyone or pulling on the leash!

What an adventure!!

Our owner & trainer, Alyssa, spent the last two weeks traveling and training with one of the top canine frisbee players in the world, Adrian Stoica! Alyssa & Adrian traveled everywhere from Chicago to St. Louis, to Michigan, to Ohio, and more in between!
