This rescue is near to my heart and have been great to foster with. They always need more fosters and operate on donations. I have fostered for the rescue for 2.5 years and have helped ~15 cats get back to health and/or find forever homes. I often take medical or a little bit longer foster commitments, but that’s not all the rescue needs! You could foster for a few days or weeks. You could foster healthy kitties that just need a safe space that may not get along with other cats or need time to decompress from a traumatic event in their life. You can foster without having an entire house or even room available. Some cats can be in a large dog crate with some breaks outside of the crate, a small bathroom, a basement that’s safe and temperature controlled. Even with little free time, you can change the life of a cat! There are times when I am super busy and the cats only get a half hour of individual time. They still have a clean, safe environment, sustenance, and fresh water access- things they would not have on the streets.

Buttercup came to us this week with her five beautiful days-old kittens from a rural southern Indiana shelter. She was out of options after being attacked by a dog and not eating for a few days. She and her babies were at risk of euthanasia. Thankfully, several people came together to prevent this and thanks to a very generous sponsor, we were able to get Buttercup immediately to urgent care when she left the shelter. That was a few days ago and she and her kittens are doing so well in foster.
Please consider a donation if you think cats like Buttercup and her kittens deserve a chance. Without funding (and without a foster), we would have had to say no. Each of these kittens (and momma too!) will receive age appropriate care over the coming weeks and months: vaccines, microchips, dewormer, parasite treatments, spay/neuter. We'd love some help in anticipation of those costs.
We had several other cats at the vet this week including a few spay surgeries, abdominal ultrasound for McMuffin, multiple emergency vet visits for Nikita our prolapse kitty, and Carl's wound care. Next week, Nikita, Carl, and Pineapple have vet visits as Pineapple is not doing well again 😭
