Meet Penny, a beautiful 2 year old Golden Retriever whose world changed when a human baby joined her family. Penny was once a happy, doted upon, carefree companion who loved beach days, family adventures, and spending time with the people she loves most.
Unfortunately, Penny has struggled to adjust to life with young children. Despite her family's commitment to training and working through her anxiety, recent incidents involving children have made it clear that Penny is no longer comfortable or safe in a home with babies or toddlers.
This decision has absolutely devastated her family. They love Penny deeply and never imagined having to make this choice, but they know the most loving thing they can do for her now is find a home where she can feel secure, relaxed, and successful.
Penny is not a "bad dog." She is a dog telling us that she is uncomfortable living with young children. In the right environment, she has every opportunity to flourish once again and become someone's devoted best friend.
Her family is heartbroken but committed to finding the right match rather than taking chances with the safety of either Penny or young children. They are hoping to find an experienced, compassionate adopter who can give her the peaceful home she needs.
Penny is spayed and has had regular checkups and is in great health to owners knowledge.
