When I was younger, I revered my Dad’s 375 H&H Mag as the most legendary firearm in our arsenal. It hasn’t been on a hike since it was on Safari giving a charging African Lioness a dirtnap over a decade ago. The gun’s original purpose, and first hunt, was for the Brown Bears of Kodiak Island. To take this rifle up to Kodiak and harvest my largest Sitka Blacktail to date, was an overwhelming experience. Adventure seems to be drawn to this particular boomstick, I just hope I can hold it as steady as my Old Man did. To top it all off, I was fortunate enough to share the moment with my girlfriend . Thanks for all the quick pictures before my phone died!

Just when we thought the Kodiak weather had cut our trip short, turns out it gave us all kinds of new opportunities! Huge thanks to the Egdorf Family for going out of their way to help my Gorgeous Girlfriend harvest her first Sitka Blacktail! Congratulations again Hun ❤️

Before I say anything about this trip, I couldn’t have done it without the unbelievable assistance from two Alaskan Families! First the Lipses who saved us during our massive layover and issues with Alaska Airlines. When we got to Kodiak, Wes and the rest of his family spoiled us rotten! Thank you again Wes! You are an absolute wildman and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate all the headaches you had to endure to make this hunt what it was!
