Wendy's Canine Training Next Classes begin this Spring! 🐶 We've got over 40 Years of Dog Training under our belts...oh and treats too! Always helping you raise the dog you will enjoy.

In home lessons & classes for pups 9 weeks old and up. Located in West Knoxville. My goal is to help dog owners mold their dogs into well rounded pets that can be enjoyed by all. I have been training dogs, instructing dog obedience classes, and providing one on one instruction to pet owners in the Knoxville area for over 25 years. I assist individuals in transforming their dog's negative behaviors

such as jumping up, house soiling, nipping, biting, destructiveness, dominance, aggression, and more into positive behavior. I find it quite rewarding helping dog owners earn their pet's love and respect thus enhancing both their and their dog's lives. I am a Member of Association of Professional Dog Trainers and trainer for the Tennessee Valley Golden Retriever Rescue. Additionally I am an experienced AKC competitor with multiple
obedience titled, therapy, and Canine Good Citizen Certified. dogs.

Sharing some of Wendy's with you today!🎉 These tips come from an AKC recent article. Wendy's Canine Training teaches these methods in our obedience classes as well.

Why do dogs jump when greeting people? Because it works.

Dogs repeat what gets rewarded. All attention counts as a win. To them, jumping = game on 🎉

✨ The fix? Don’t just tell them what not to do... teach them what to do instead!

✔️ Four paws on the floor
✔️ Or a calm sit for greetings

When paws stay down or the pup sits on the floor, attention comes. When jumping happens, attention disappears 🚫

Consistency + clear alternatives = calmer greetings 🐾

Our Story

Our goal is to help dog owners mold their dogs into well rounded pets that will be enjoyed by all. I have over 25 years of experience in training dogs, instructing dog obedience classes, and one on one instruction. I assist individuals in transforming their dog's negative behaviors such as jumping up, house soiling, nipping, biting, destructiveness, dominance, aggression, and more into positive behavior. I find it quite rewarding helping dog owners earn their pet's love and respect thus enhancing both their and their dog's lives. I am a Member of Association of Professional Dog Trainers and Trainer for the Tennessee Valley Golden Retriever Rescue. Experienced as AKC competitor with multiple obedience titled dogs, therapy dogs, Canine Good Citizen Certified and AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator.

Additionally, your dog may have the potential to not only be a companion, but serve as a therapy dog, personal service dog, or emotional support animal. We can evaluate your pet to help you achieve your goals.
