If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws! Pavement can reach 150°F+ on sunny days—even when the air feels comfortable.

🐶 Protect your pup with these hot weather tips:

✅ Walk early in the morning or after sunset
✅ Stick to grass or shaded paths
✅ Use paw balms or dog booties if needed
✅ Bring water and take breaks often
✅ Do the 7-second test: Place your hand on the pavement. If it’s too hot after 7 seconds, it’s too hot to walk.

Their shortened airways make it harder to breathe, especially when it’s hot or humid. This condition is called BOAS (Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome).

💡 Summer safety tips for flat-faced pups:
✔️ Keep walks short & shady
✔️ Avoid high temps completely
✔️ Use cooling mats or fans indoors
✔️ Know the signs of distress (loud breathing, blue gums, collapse)
