We have hit the 3 week mark so vet said to start having her do a little bit of trotting to see how she looks and feels. I think she is looking pretty good!

Update. Still wrapping and trying to get her swelling down. Vet said the swelling could be permanent from the soft tissue damage. But we will continue our routine of stanfing wrap With her topical cream at night and unwrapped in the afternoons. Today was very hot and she definitely enjoyed her evening hose down and brushing

Larks swelling has come down a lot! We are so thankful for the little progress. Time will tell if her leg ever goes back to normal size but for now we are thankful for the little results. 🥰

Our beautiful Lark suffered an injury to her leg during a storm a couple weeks ago. Our vet couldn’t figure out was wrong. Tried cold hosing, antibiotics, and feed through anti inflammatories. Our next step was to haul her and have an X-ray and ultrasound done where Dr cook found she had major bone damage on the outside of cannon bone and a piece of the bone has chipped off. She said luckily that no tendons were damaged so she is hopefully that the tendons will pull the bone in and heal. She migh never be the performance horse she could have been but she is going to heal! We still have high hopes for an amazing recovery and will post updates of leg as she recovers. 💕

Does your horse suffer from rain rot? We suggest grooming them with our Copper Alloy Curry! It not only removes dirt and dust from your horse's skin and coat but also leaves copper salts in your horse's coat making it an unpleasant area for bacteria to live! www.kawellusa.com
