🐾 Preparing for Puppies 🐾

One thing many people don’t realize is how much preparation goes into a litter long before the puppies arrive.

With Ember’s Gemstone Litter expected around June 10th, we’ve spent the last several weeks getting everything ready—from sanitizing and organizing supplies to setting up a safe, comfortable whelping area for mom and babies.

The whelping box is designed to give Ember a quiet space to deliver and care for her puppies, while allowing us to monitor everyone closely during those critical first weeks. We keep essentials nearby, including clean bedding, puppy scales, milk replacer, thermometers, disinfectants, and emergency supplies so we’re prepared for whatever the puppies may need.

While the photos of tiny newborn puppies are always the fun part, the preparation beforehand is just as important.

We’re officially in the countdown now and can’t wait to welcome Rocket & Ember’s Gemstone Litter. 💎❤️

A special day for our Rosie girl 🤍

This weekend we met Rosie’s wonderful family in Bristol as they made their way to Virginia Beach—and watching her head off on her next adventure was such a sweet full-circle moment.

Rosie traveled so well and settled right into her little travel setup like a pro. Then getting to see her meet her family in person made it even more special.

One of the sweetest parts of what we do is seeing each puppy matched with the family that feels just right for them. Rosie is so loved already, and we’re so excited for all the memories ahead for her.

Yesterday was the puppies’ second vet visit and they made us so proud 🤍

From being handled and examined to soaking up attention from the staff, they continue to show the calm, social, and confident temperaments we work so intentionally to build from the very beginning.

Creating positive early experiences is such an important part of our program, and watching them walk into new environments with curiosity and trust is incredibly rewarding.

They received wonderful feedback at their appointment and are continuing to thrive in every way. These little moments are a huge part of shaping well-adjusted companions for their future families.

Still waiting on his person 🤍

Sprout has been soaking up these warm spring evenings playing outside, carrying around his favorite toy, and following us everywhere we go.

He’s such a gentle, happy little guy with the sweetest temperament — calm, affectionate, confident, and incredibly easy to love. Watching him grow into himself over these last few weeks has been so special.

Sprout is being intentionally raised through our DFD Signature Start™ program with early socialization, crate exposure, grooming routines, daily structure, and real family life woven into his days from the very beginning.

Happy Mother’s Day to the girls who helped shape the heart of Duke’s Forever Doodles 🤍

Poppy has already blessed us with two absolutely beautiful litters and has been the most loving, natural mama from the very beginning. Watching her raise her babies has been such a special part of this journey.

And Ember… our future mama 💫
We are so hopeful that she has little ones growing right now, and we can’t wait to see the incredible puppies she may bring into the world.

These girls are more than just breeding dogs to us — they’re family, best friends, and the foundation of everything we’re building here at DFD. We’re so thankful for them today and every day. 🌸

POV: two little Cavapoos leave Tennessee and head off to Boston & New York to meet their forever families ✈️🤍

From puppy baths and packed travel bags to airport cuddles and safe flights home… these sweet girls handled their big adventures so beautifully.

This week, two more of our Flower Patch babies began their journeys home 🤍

Daisy headed to Boston, and Buttercup flew all the way to New York.

From early morning baths and carefully packed puppy bags to airport cuddles, quiet moments at the gate, and safe flights home — every part of their journey was handled with so much love and intention.

One thing that matters deeply to us at Duke’s Forever Doodles is making sure our puppies feel safe, comfortable, and cared for during every transition. These babies are family to us long before they ever leave our home, and we want their first experiences with the world to feel gentle and positive.

Watching them meet their forever families is always bittersweet, but seeing the love already forming makes every goodbye worth it.

Buttercup got her own special outing yesterday before she flies home to her family on Friday 🤍✈️

We spent the day doing errands, riding in the car, shopping, cuddling, and soaking up some extra one-on-one time together before her big adventure.

These little “real life” outings are something we love doing with our puppies before they go home. It gives them positive experiences out in the world while helping build confidence in new environments, sounds, people, and routines 🧸

Buttercup did SO good yesterday. Calm in the car, content being carried around, sweet with everyone she met, and perfectly happy just tagging along with us all day 🥹

Watching them grow up and getting them ready for their families is always the sweetest and hardest part all at once 🤍
