I love mosaics. Those are white chinchillas that may or may not have their genetic base colors show through in random places on their bodies. Sometimes you can see interesting patterns in grey, beige, violet, sapphire, etc. This rescue looks like she has quizzical eyebrows! I'd love to see pictures of your unique mosaics.

Talk about abundant provision! We were just wrapping up the processing process on apple wood when a storm came through our area and knocked down a whole apple tree! Scrolling back through some old pictures and came across this happy ending. Bucky came to us from someone who dearly loved him, but was unable to keep him. She recognized that he was not thriving in her busy home. Bucky showed his stress by fur chewing. Whimsy's daughter ended up falling for Bucky's charm and he became one of our beloved mascots. A quick PSA from Whimsy: We love seeing your orders come in. But it honestly hurts our hearts when someone buys the bare minimum month after month. Pellets are important, but they’re just one piece of a chinchilla’s nutritional puzzle. If your pet's menu is currently 80% or more kibble, it’s time for a glow up.

Ever hear the phrase "K!ll them with kindness"? That's exactly what this person did right before surrendering her chinchillas to us. She laid out rat and mouse bait in her home because rodents were getting into the chinchilla feed, then let the chinchillas out to "play" for one last hurrah before coming in. Yes, the chinchillas found and sampled the bait. How stupid can a person be?
