These sweet puppies are also in need of foster homes while we work on getting them fully vetted! 🐾

They are the remaining pups from the other rescue that reached out and asked for help moving dogs into safe placements. We would love to help them, but as a foster-based rescue, we cannot bring them in without committed foster homes.

Lone Star Ditch Dog Rescue will handle all necessary veterinary care while they are in foster care—we just need loving families willing to give them a safe place to stay. Please message us if you can help foster one of these babies! ā¤ļø

Another rescue reached out and asked if we could help move some dogs into safe foster homes—and this is Buddy. 🄺

Buddy is an approximately one-year-old boy who was owned by a tree farmer. One day, his owner left and never returned, leaving Buddy behind to roam the streets. He began visiting the same three houses every day until he was finally trapped and taken to safety.

Buddy absolutely loves other dogs and children! He is a little wary of unfamiliar adults, but once he realizes you are safe, he becomes a complete sweetheart.

Buddy has been vaccinated, dewormed, and given flea prevention, but he still needs to be neutered. Lone Star Ditch Dog Rescue will handle all of his veterinary care while he is in a foster home—we just need someone willing to give this deserving boy a safe place to land.

Please message us if you can foster Buddy! ā¤ļø

✨ COCO IS FINALLY READY FOR ADOPTION! ✨

šŸ’” Coco has been failed more than once in her short life but we’re praying the next person who chooses her will never fail her again.

After surviving life on the streets, Coco was rescued and placed somewhere we truly believed she would be safe and loved. Instead, she came back to us severely underweight, covered in urine and f***s, and with scars on her little body. The condition she was in was absolutely heartbreaking. She deserved love, comfort, and protection—not to be neglected all over again.

For months, Coco’s foster has patiently helped her heal and regain the weight she lost. Today, we can finally say that she is at a healthy weight and this sweet girl is officially available for adoption. ā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹

Coco is a petite red pit mix who is fully vetted, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. She is wonderful with children, good with other dogs, laid-back, affectionate, and adorably vocal. Despite everything humans have put her through, she still wants to love and trust us.

Please don’t let Coco keep waiting. She deserves a family who will look at her and know that she is worth protecting, loving, and keeping forever. She deserves to sleep safely every night without ever worrying about being hungry, neglected, or unwanted again.

If you can give Coco the life she should have had all along, please message Lone Star Ditch Dog Rescue for an adoption application. She is located in Central Texas.

Caye is officially out of boarding and settling into a foster home!

This sweet boy has been through so much. He was dumped in Killeen during the freeze, survived being shot, and recently found himself back in our care after being posted for rehoming. Despite everything, Caye is still incredibly sweet and wants so badly to trust and be loved.

Caye is very timid and needs time to feel comfortable, but once he does, he becomes affectionate and wants to stay close to his people. He is especially sensitive to loud noises, barking, and fast movements. We believe some of this may be connected to the trauma of being shot, as sudden sounds and movements often make him jump.

He does well with calmer dogs but becomes nervous around dogs with a lot of energy. Caye also enjoys the children in his foster home, although he sometimes believes it is his job to herd them. We understand that this is instinctive behavior, and his foster is working with him so he can learn appropriate boundaries and hopefully be successful in a home with children.

Caye isn’t a dog who will immediately show you everything he has to offer. He needs patience, gentleness, and time - but once he feels safe, the sweet and loving dog underneath begins to shine. We truly believe he is going to make someone the most loyal and wonderful companion when he is comfortable and ready for his forever home.

For now, we are simply so grateful that Caye is out of boarding, surrounded by a family, and finally getting the time and support he needs to heal. We cannot wait to watch him continue to grow.

Thank you so much Red Barn Kennel for always taking exceptional care of our dogs. We appreciate you and all the hard work you put into caring for the dogs at your facility.

Benji is being returned to us, and we urgently need a temporary foster for just five days. He has a boarding spot reserved, but it will not be available until then.

Benji is a very sweet and sensitive boy who loves being close to his people and wants nothing more than to please them. Once he feels comfortable and bonds with you, he has the potential to be the absolute best dog.

As a puppy, Benji did not have consistent access to water, so he never learned how to regulate his intake. He will drink an entire bowl even when he is no longer thirsty, which causes him to urinate frequently. He needs someone who can keep him on a consistent potty-break schedule, supervise him indoors, and gently redirect him if he tries to potty inside.

Benji thrives outdoors and would do best in a home with a securely fenced yard where he can safely spend time outside. We will provide everything he needs. Please message us if you can give Benji a safe place to stay for the next five days.

For 188 days, Bandit has been waiting for his forever home. He is fully vetted, ready to go, and could go home TODAY if the right person finally gives him a chance.

Bandit was dumped with several other dogs in the Florence/Andice area, and after everything he has been through, we desperately want him to know what it feels like to finally belong somewhere. 🄺

Bandit is a very good boy, but he needs someone willing to understand him and give him proper introductions. He does well with our rescue dogs, although he can occasionally try to be dominant. The good thing about Bandit? Simply saying his name redirects his attention right back to you. He listens and genuinely wants to please his person.

He seems to prefer female dogs and female humans. Bandit is terrified of men, so any men in his future home will need to be introduced slowly and properly. When he is scared or uncomfortable, he can become defensive and bark. Giving him the time and space to realize someone is safe makes all the difference.

Bandit also needs proper, slow introductions to both dogs and cats. We want to set him up for success and find someone who is willing to give him the patience he deserves.

He isn’t asking for much. He just needs someone willing to understand that his past shaped some of his fears—but it doesn’t define the dog he is.

188 days is long enough. It’s Bandit’s turn. šŸ˜ā¤ļø

Please share this boy. Somewhere out there is the person he has been waiting all these months for.

🐾 Bandit is fully vetted and available for adoption through Lone Star Ditch Dog Rescue.

PEARL IS ADOPTED! šŸ„¹ā¤ļø

Three weeks ago, Pearl met a wonderful family at our adoption event at Tractor Supply. They reached out Friday evening to ask if she was still available, and by Saturday morning, we had their application. We instantly knew it was meant to be!

Pearl is finally home with her forever family and two new doggy siblings. We’re hoping she will be the perfect playmate for their younger dog, who looks almost identical to her! Pearl did so well with the entire family at the event and absolutely loved their dog.

This sweet girl will never have to worry about being dumped or unwanted again. Pearl is truly the best girl in the world, and although we are so sad to see her go, we couldn’t be happier that she finally found her forever.

We love you so much, sweet girl. Go live your very best life you deserve it!

A huge thank-you to Pearl’s incredible foster for making all of this possible. We know fostering her wasn’t always easy, but your patience, love, and dedication truly changed her life. Because of you, Pearl had the opportunity to find the forever family she deserves. We will always be grateful for everything you did for her. ā¤ļø

Caye got a little break from boarding today and enjoyed a playdate with some of our other rescue dogs! He did especially well with the calmer dogs and played very nicely without any issues.

Caye is a timid boy who prefers to stay close to someone he trusts, quietly watching everything around him and occasionally getting up to check things out. He likes playing with balls, although he hasn’t quite figured out the whole ā€œbring it backā€ part of fetch yet.

Once Caye feels comfortable, he bonds fairly quickly and loves deeply. He is protective of himself when meeting unfamiliar people, so he will need a patient adopter willing to give him time and attend a few meet and greets before taking him home. He should never be rushed or forced to interact before he is ready.

Caye truly is such a good dog. He just needs someone who will be patient with him, earn his trust, and love him as much as he will love them. Once you become his person, you’ll have one incredibly loyal best friend.

Pearl has some exciting news to share. 🄹Be sure to check back tomorrow.
