Dumbbell training with Roo.

Roo has truly surprised me with her interest in the dumbbell. While working with her sister Remi, Roo would watch(mainly because food was involved).
I thought well maybe she would want to try it.

This is 100% free shaped behavior. Meaning no physical or verbal communication was giving to get this behavior.

In just three 20min sessions Roo has made tremendous progress!

Maybe she will become a competition obedience dog after all.

Friday was game day at the EIBHC Barn Hunt Regional. We had fun with our team partners Emily Monroe and Mahnke! Our team didn't qualify, but they did their best. Our little pups gave it all they had!

Kangaroo and I had a fantastic time at the EIBHC Regional. We got to hang out with a huge chunk of our Oh, Rats Dog Training family(humans and dogs) Congratulations to all!!

Friday we ran teams with Emily and Mahnke! Roo hit litter, leaving Mahnke and Emily to find ratties alone. -A-ROO

Saturday and Sunday we hit the master courses!! Roo did absolutely amazing on the large courses! She showed me this weekend that she still loves the game(after 10 months of horrible hunting).

Roo went 4/4, I went 3/4. Failing to call clear in time on our first run. So in my book Roo went 4/4. She hit the Rats hard the first time finding them, navigated the huge distance challenge like a champ! We walked away with a 3rd and 2nd place in small dogs!! And............... earned our RATCHX12!! Continuing to make barn hunt history in our breed! We can't wait to receive our RATCH12 ribbon.

Thank you to the judges Brenda Lund and Nicole Birnbaum for amazing courses this weekend! I loved them all. Thank you to EIBHC for Host a fabulous trial. Thank you to all our barn hunt family for a fantastic weekend full of laughter, awesome dinners and cheering for everyone!! Until next year.

Roo and I have been in a slump the last few months in Barn Hunt. I thought maybe I was doing to much with her so I cut back to 1 day instead of 3 day trials. But no, we are most definitely in a slump.

Oh, Rats Dog Training

Master we went 1 out of 2. Leaving Rats on the course her first run. Ended up pulling off a High in class her second run. Not sure how we managed that.

Crazy 8's out 80 points with lots of micromanaging.

Master we went 1 out of 4 runs. Leaving many Rats on the course.

Crazy 8's earned 50 points. It was a rough run. Lots of barking and not wanting to indicate on the Rats.
