UPDATE..
Now she is claiming that I'm slandering her. I'm sorry I don't see anywhere in this post I mentioned her name.
i also need to correct something. After looking back on her text messages, I see that when she put him in the other room I thought she said he had stopped making the noise, but she said in the message it had eased up, not stopped then she went to bed.
It seems that a breeder has posted on her page about a hypothetical scenario without including the whole story. So let me comment on on this situation.
On the morning of Jan. 17th 2026 a "reputable" breeder purchased a 5 year old lilac and tan male pug from myself
She was sent photos and videos showing the pug running and playing. She was also told that the pug was large and thick in which she replied that was fine. She has a big yard and he would run off any extra weight.
So she comes to my home with her two young boys and meets in the kitchen where the pug is. He is showing no issues. Happy and BREATHING normal. The said breeder then signs the papers and is told about his shot record. She was very happy to have him added to her breeding program and even said she couldn't wait for everyone to see the colors she could make now.
Ok. Enough of that back story.
We helped him into the car between her two younger boys and away they went.
Note.. it was cold that day so she had the heat on in the car. I actually looked up the temp for that day it was 29 degrees.
She left around 11am. At 1240pm she sent a text asking if he had a breathing problem. Which i replied no. And asked if he was hot because the heat was on in the car. She told me she was going stop and put him in the back so he could have more room, and then she said she rolled the windows down so he could get air and then told me the issue stopped and he was settled in.(I find it strange that the cool air calmed him down that quickly and lasted the next 8 hrs of driving.
She noted in a text that she thought it was just anxiety from the car ride.
She drives on home to Florida with no other issues.
812 pm I get a message from her saying he got out of the car fine. Peed. Wagging his tail etc. She takes him in the house (note she has many other dogs) he didn't know but I'm sure he heard them barking and then this coughing sound started again . She sent a video so I can see it. She put a cool rag on his neck and fans to blow on him and after a few minutes she said he settled down again. I did ask about taking his temp. She didn't do it. I think she said she didn't know where it was in order to do so.
I asked numerous times was he hot. At that time she had already put a wet cloth around his neck to cool him down. He was scooting all over to place trying to find a cooler spot to lay. You can see that in the video. That and him gasping for some air.
Shes a well know breeder and has been doing it for at least 6 years. What breeder would just sit there and do nothing. I asked if he felt hot she said no. But she had two fans and a cold rag on his neck
The vet was two hours away and she was tired from driving so she didn't do that either. Im going to attach that video here and yall all can determine what you think was happening with him.
He finally goes into another room where one of her female dogs is and fell asleep with the fan on him. I keep mentioning the fan, because he has lived his entire life at 68 gdegree weather. He was in a warm to hot car and he was coughing but once she rolled the window down he stopped. He house was 75 degrees according to her, so she had put a cool towel on his neck and fans blowing on him. She also mentioned he was moving around like he was trying to find a cooler spot to lay. He settles down. She says he fell asleep and she checked on him and he was sleeping and snoring. She checked again around 230am and he was still sleeping and snoring
The next morning at 6am ish she let her dogs out and went in to get him... he was DEAD
That's right my beautiful, perfect boy gone just like that. How does a dog leave your house one day and die at her house the next. She said she was going to take him and have a necropsies done. She took him to one place but they didn't do it so she waited till the next day Monday and took him to HER vet to have it done. On Jan 27th the report came back and showed nothing. The dog was healthy. There was absolutely nothing wrong with him.
In attaching the report also You can see that it all says 2nd to death. That means AFTER he died not while he was living. She purchased him, my beautiful lilac and tan, perfectly healthy pug on a contract payment plan. Which she doesn't think she should now pay.
WHY??? He died in her care. Her vet said he was healthy and found nothing wrong with him. She said it was all about the money with me. That's a joke. I can't tell you how many times I bent over backwards and returned money, paid for stuff i really didn't need to but did anyway to make the buyer happy. I'm NOT doing it this time.
He was healthy. This started in her car. Did he eat something while in the car that caused this? Trust me the car was not clean when she picked him up I even threw trash away for them. Did he over heat in both the car and her house?
This is what I know.
He was having a hard time breathing and she did nothing to help him. Didn't take his temp. Didn't take him outside to chill down. Didn't rush him to the vet. She did nothing. And she thinks that is my fault.
Not to mention she has four dogs from me already. Two were puppies and two were adults. And note all of a sudden I'm a bad breeder when things don't go her way and not in her favor.
What do you think? Am I at fault for this?
