Watching Dusky Lynn Hall and Louie win at the Lone Star Shootout is one of those moments that reaches deeper than the arena. This isn’t just a run.. it’s a testimony of perseverance, trust, and choosing faith over fear when the road hasn’t been easy.

Julie believed in people, in horses, and in doing things with integrity and heart. She taught us that fear doesn’t get the final word.. faith does. Seeing this team succeed is a powerful reminder that what’s planted in love, patience, and purpose continues to grow, even when the planter is no longer physically beside us.

There’s no doubt Julie would be incredibly proud of Dusky and Louie.. of the work behind the scenes, the courage to keep showing up, and the way they’ve trusted the process. God is still writing the story, and moments like this are proof that His hand is in it.

Meet Julie Murphy — a wife, mother, daughter, horsewoman, a friend, a light in all our lives. 🩷

Julie’s love for horses was matched only by her love for people. She had a way of connecting with every horse and every person she met.. fierce, loyal, and full of heart. Her passion, her faith, and her spirit touched everyone around her.

Sadly, Julie’s life was cut short by liver cancer, but her legacy is far from over. In her honor, we’ve created Julie Murphy shirts and every dollar of profit goes directly to her family. Because of your support, we will continue to host races in Julie’s memory for years to come, celebrating the joy, faith, and love she brought into the world.

I’m overflowing with gratitude as I look back on yesterday’s event. To every competitor, volunteer, family member, and friend who showed up — thank you. You brought the heart, hustle, and hope to this race.

Congratulations to all the OPEN winners and Youth winners! 🎉 You rode with faith, you raced with courage, and you showed fear who’s boss.

This is more than a barrel race — it’s a reminder that when we choose faith over fear, miracles happen. ✨
