🐾 Now Hiring: Dog Walker / Pet Sitter 🐾
Paws by the Pier is growing, and we’re looking to welcome a reliable, compassionate dog walker / pet sitter to our team.
The ideal candidate is confident and comfortable caring for all dogs, regardless of age, size, breed, or temperament, including anxious or reactive pups, and is also comfortable with cats. Experience can come from previous work or personal ownership; what matters most is calm handling, patience, and good judgment.
Availability:
Monday–Friday between 11am and 3pm availability is required. The bulk of your schedule will fall within these parameters, with occasional jobs before, after, or on weekends. Petsitting jobs can range from one night to two weeks depending on the job.
This position begins with lighter hours (~10 walks per week) but will increase to a full schedule within the first few months. We value long-term commitment and offer raises at 6 months, 1 year, and annually thereafter.
Compensation:
• $25/hour for walks & drop-ins
• $75/night for pet sitting
• Plus tips and performance bonuses
What we’re looking for:
• Strong reliability, availability, and communication skills
• Comfort handling larger breeds and reactive behaviors
• Willingness and ability to travel throughout all of Monmouth County (required). The majority of our clients currently reside in Keyport, Hazlet, Union Beach, Keansburg, Holmdel, Middletown, Atlantic Highlands, Rumson & surrounding areas.
• A genuine love for spending time outdoors and caring for pets
