Halo is an amazing puppy looking for a pet/low impact sport home. I obtained Halo with the hope for him to work cattle. Unfortunately after having a look at Halos hips I was advised by my vet to place him in a low impact sport home or pet home. With that information I cannot let him go to someone who would expect him to do any high impact sports.

On paper Halos hips look great! But he struggles with laxity in his right hip, for the most part Halos a normal dog, he does have some hind end weakness that has improved with PT.

Halos is a very drivey dog, very ball fixated and shows promise in scent work.

Halo has his Novice Trick Dog Title and is ready to learn more!

Halo is good with dogs large and small but I would not leave him unsupervised around cats, while supervised he is safe, he will fixate and nip cats when given the opportunity.

Halos favorite game is tug and his favorite trick currently is to “wave”!

If you are seriously interested in Halo I have copies of his hip X-rays and would be happy to discuss more about his prognosis!

HFH Second Chance Herders was created for the dogs who need more structure, more understanding, and more attuned purposes. This program is dedicated to high-drive herding dogs who require experienced handling and thoughtful placement to truly thrive.

We are intentionally selective about the dogs we accept into this program, and even more selective about the homes we place them in. Every dog is evaluated as an individual, with careful consideration given to their drive, temperament, handling needs, and long-term success. Our goal is not just placement, but the right placement.
