Does your dog really understand what you're saying — or what you're doing?

Monday education reminder from VetSoul Academy: dogs and cats communicate mainly with their BODY, not their voice. Learn to read the signals before the behavior escalates.

5 body language cues every owner should know:
✅ Yawning or lip-licking outside of meals = stress signal, not tiredness
✅ Tail wagging LOW and slow = uncertainty, not happiness
✅ "Whale eye" (white of the eye showing) = your pet is uncomfortable, give them space
✅ A cat's slow blink = trust and affection — blink back gently
✅ Ears pinned backward (dog or cat) = fear or discomfort — pause the interaction

The golden rule: if your animal shows 2 of these signs at the same time, stop whatever is happening and give them a calm break. Positive education always starts with LISTENING before teaching.

✅ Semaine 4 : La confirmation échographique est possible ! C'est le moment idéal pour compter les chiots

Here are 5 key nutrition principles every responsible pet owner should know:

✅ Fresh water, always. Dehydration is one of the most overlooked causes of kidney problems in cats and dogs. Change your pet's water daily.

✅ Read the label before you buy. A good food has a named protein (chicken, beef, salmon) as the first ingredient — not "meat by-products" or corn syrup.

✅ BARF or kibble? Both can work — if done right. Raw feeding offers great benefits, but must be balanced by a professional to avoid nutritional deficiencies. Always consult your vet before switching.

La santé bucco-dentaire de votre animal, c'est bien plus qu'une question d'haleine. Des dents mal entretenues peuvent entraîner des infections graves qui affectent le cœur, les reins et le foie. 🐾

Voici 5 gestes simples pour protéger votre compagnon :

✅ Brossez les dents de votre animal 2 à 3 fois par semaine avec un dentifrice spécial animal (jamais humain !)
✅ Proposez des jouets à mâcher et des friandises dentaires pour réduire le tartre naturellement
✅ Vérifiez régulièrement les gencives : elles doivent être roses, fermes et sans saignement
