By request, we are reposting the scent article instructions.

How To Make A Scent Article For Your Pets

Scent Articles are especially helpful when there is more than one pet in the household, but we recommend that everyone have a scent article for each pet. This ensures that we have a strong individual scent for your pets when we come to search. Also, if you are traveling with your pet, be sure to take the scent articles with you in case your pup escapes while you are traveling. This is to make sure that you have a definitive scent for the missing pup so that our Bloodhounds can search for them.

These can be purchased in our store.

Supplies

A Ziplock bag for each pet
4X4 gauze pads
Pen/ Sharpie marker

1. Wash your hands with a mild, unscented soap and dry them well.
2. Label the Ziplock bag with your pet’s name and the date
3. Take the 4X4 gauze pad and rub it all over your pet. Be sure to get under their arm pits, around their necks, and belly areas.
4. You want to get the dander and the hair from them.
5. Place the entire 4X4 gauze pad and hair in the Ziplock bag and seal it.
6. Put it in a safe place.
7. Every 6 months, you want to ADD more hair and another 4X4 to the Ziplock bag and add the date this was done.

Las Vegas Area, NV

Adorable young brindle chow found in Las Vegas- rescue needs immed foster, will need a permanent home if now owner is found, poor thing is very neglected so owner is unlikely to show. This adorable, young, rare brindle colored chow boy was found as a stray in the Las Vegas area with thinning fur and looks neglected.
He is very friendly to people and came right up to the finder and gave kisses. He has done well so far with both dogs and cats. Please contact [email protected] or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network if you can help or are interested in adopting or foster, but please note we cannot send this dog to anyone, and a local foster is needed. Thanks!
