Our intention is to grow within our communities and develop a core group of volunteers that not only believe in helping animals, but the people that care for them as well.

Hey friends, I'm Grayson! 👋

Some kind folks took me in and realized I had an injured leg, so they contacted the shelter so I could get the help I needed.

I'm at Oak Hill Animal Hospital this morning having my leg resplinted. We're hoping that it will heal, but if not, I may need to have my leg amputated. (I'd make an adorable tripod).

I'd really like a foster home to relax in while I heal and receive some TLC. Being confined to a cage is hard for an attention-loving fella like me..got a spare bathroom, office, or bedroom I could crash in for a bit? I'd be ever so appreciative!

If interested in helping me out, send a message to the shelter folks here on FB or send us an email at [email protected].

Please share my cute face! ❤️

🚨 It’s us again — your friendly, constantly in Code Red local shelter: Fayette County Humane Society! 🚨

If overcrowding were an Olympic sport, we’d be gold medalists by now. 🏅 Our kennels are full. Our crates are full. We’ve got dogs in wired crates, and as of today, we’re about two crates away from turning the mop closet into a doggie studio apartment. 🧼🐶

We’re not kidding. We’re out of room, out of crates, and almost out of bathrooms. The need to help animals never slows down — and right now, it’s pouring puppies.

So… we’re throwing a Start of Summer FREE ADOPTION EVENT to clear some space and help these sweet souls find homes! ☀️🐾

📅 Friday, June 27th & Saturday, June 28th
💸 FREE adoptions for ALL puppies and dogs

What’s included?
✅ Vaccines
✅ Dewormer
✅ Flea & tick prevention
✅ A FREE spay/neuter voucher (yes, we’re serious!)

These dogs are ready to go from kennel chaos to couch potato life — and they’re counting on you! 🐕💛

Available dogs will be listed below. If you can’t adopt, please share — it helps more than you know!

Let’s get some tails wagging out the front door instead of bouncing off the kennel walls. 🙃

Adoptions at the Fayette County Humane Society are still free through 5/31/25!

Doc is a good natured, AKC registered, Treeing Walker Coonhound. He unfortunately did not pass his former owner’s expectations as a hunting dog and was turned over to the Humane Society. Doc still has plenty of life and love to give to a new family. He warms up to new people quickly and will make some lucky person an awesome best friend. In other words, one person’s loss is another person’s treasure.

Doc is about 1 ½ years old and is already neutered. As with most rescued dogs, he will need patience from his new family as he adjusts to a better life. He has not been tested with other animals.

Doc will be vaccinated, dewormed, and receive flea and tick prevention and his adoption fee is $125 after 5/31/25.
