If you have found an animal, please call the JCPD (785-762-5912) to contact our Animal Control. When adopting a dog, we have everyone go through an adoption application. Here are the steps:
1. Visit the shelter and see what dog perks your interest.
2. Have part of the shelter staff take dog out of cage (if not on stray hold) for you to associate with.
3. If still interested, fill out an adoption
application.
4. Give the shelter a few days to review all the applications on said dog. Adoption fees for dogs:

If you are interested in a cat
1. Have one of the shelter staff take the cat out of the cage (unless on stray hold) and have you associate with it.
2. If all goes well, you can fill out an adoption application to adopt the cat and take them home the same day! Adoption fees for cats
